What is going on and how it gets diagnosed
P0192 is the electrical-low variant of the rail pressure complaint: the sensor's signal wire sits below its plausible floor, the signature of a short to ground, a dead sensor element, or a collapsed reference voltage. Where its sibling P0191 argues about plausibility, P0192 is blunter - the wire itself reads wrong.
Electrical-range codes are kinder to diagnose than rationality codes: unplugging the sensor and checking the reference and signal with a meter separates sensor from wiring in one stop, no fuel work needed. The shared 5-volt reference deserves its usual mention - other sensors dying on the same day points at the reference, not coincidence. The computer, meanwhile, may misfuel based on the bad signal, which is where the stalls come from; and as with every fuel-system code on this site, smell trumps theory - fuel odor means leak, and leak means stop.

“The low pressure fuel pump on my Cx-5 failed on my drive back home, while in a remote area. I was able to limp the vehicle home with a check engine light that illuminated (at the time of the incident) and erratic vehicle performance (uneven power deliver). This occurred on level ground at highway speed - no incident precipitated the part failure. Once home the following day, the vehicle would not restart. Upon diagnostic review, the vehicle had thrown two codes, one being a low fuel rail pressure (P0192 and P0171). This is a know issue for these defective (Denso) fuel pumps.
