“The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the engine compartment after the vehicle had switched from electric to gasoline. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. “Power steering failed exactly as under recall 15S18 and 15N01 - however they say my car isn't included in the recall. The car is still at the dealer and broken, so the part is available at this moment. The steering warning came up while driving. Upon restarting, the car would only work in manual mode. The dealer has confirmed the problem. I have not contacted Ford yet, only talking to the dealer. “My steering wheel locked up and was unable to move there was a recall 15V250000 that was allegedly completed by colonial ford in Danbury ct sometime in 08/2015. However the bolts have snapped and it is now at a dealership sunshine ford in Newburgh ny they stated the recall was never fixed and it is becoming an issue and could be a safety issue.”Owner report · Steering · Jan 2024

“Engine makes a whining sound when motor engages. 2 auto shops, including Ford dealership says it's a bad transmission. When I went online to see if others have had this problem, issue was confirmed that this is a common problem with this Hybrid. “The contact's daughter owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon her daughter starting the vehicle, an abnormal snapping sound was coming from the vehicle while turning. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that her daughter used excessive force to steer the vehicle home. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who informed the contact of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that the vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel seized. Additionally, the traction control warning light was illuminated. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. Recalls - 2 campaigns
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 120V Convenience charge cords that were supplied with and sold for use with 2013-2015 Ford C-Max Energi and Fusion Energi vehicles and 2012-2015 Ford Focus Electric vehicles. Cords with part numbers FM58-10B706-AA, FM58-10B706-AB, FM58-10B706-AC, FM58-10B706-AD, FM58-10B706-AE and FM58-10B706-AF were manufactured without thermistors, and during vehicle charging, increased resistance in the house's outlet or wiring can cause the cord to overheat and melt.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the current cord with a new 120V convenience cord with a thermistor, free of charge. The recall began January 18, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S24.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured July 27, 2013, to October 31, 2014, 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles manufactured February 24, 2014, to October 31, 2014, and 2015 Ford Fusion Energi vehicles manufactured July 14, 2014, to October 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the key may be able to be removed even while the transmission is not in Park. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles, free of charge. The recall began on December 15, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14C11.
