U0001 is a complaint about the high-speed CAN bus itself - the two-wire party line every critical module shares. When the bus degrades, modules lose each other in bunches, which is why this code arrives with a light show rather than one tidy symptom.
Two cheap checks come first, because the bus is only as good as its power: a weak battery and a corroded ground can make a healthy network look insane. After that, diagnosis is systematic, not guesswork: the bus should measure about 60 ohms between its wires with power off, and a technician isolates a shorted segment or a misbehaving module by disconnecting branches one at a time until the bus recovers. It is methodical work a competent shop does in an hour or two - and precisely the kind of fault where throwing modules at the car burns money.
