“The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 10 MPH and pulling into a parking lot, the vehicle unexpectedly lost motive power. The message "Shift to Neutral and Press the Start Button" was displayed. The contact was concerned that the failure was a safety hazard and could pose a safety risk to the contact and others. “My vehicle was serviced for the Chevy L87 recall a couple of thousand miles ago. It currently has 13343 miles on it and I was driving down the road and then all of a sudden the engine just stopped and my vehicle lost power leaving me stranded on a state route XXX in [XXX], which is a dangerous route with nowhere to pull off. This issue has been going on for years now and Chevy needs to make this right. “OnStar Telemetry Control module suddenly failed. Systems such as automatic crash detection, directions, mapping and OnStar emergency connection and SOS all not working. Rests did not work and truck is at the dealership for repairs. Internet reports that this is a common issue with 24-25 models but GMC not proactively repairing or compensating owners for repair. “2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ, 3.0L Duramax. When the DEF system begins displaying the "miles until 65 MPH max speed" warning, the warning takes over the Driver Information Center and cannot be acknowledged or dismissed with the steering-wheel thumbwheel. This prevents me from accessing unrelated DIC information, including Trip 1/Trip 2 and other vehicle information, potentially for hundreds of miles. The truck recently received the latest available software update. I am requesting that GM document this as a software/usability defect and provide a case number. “Not that anything has happened to my truck but im genuinely worried that something bad will happen with my motor. With it being the 6.2L L87 motor. My truck was manufactured july 2024 which is 2 months after Gm's cut off. I love the truck but im worried about going to and from work, what if i was to turn and this truck dies and i go into oncoming traffic? What about everyone else driving their own vehicles? “The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH uphill with a boat hitched on a trailer, while depressing the accelerator pedal, the engine overheated and the vehicle was pulled over and the idol warning message was displayed. The contact pulled over to the right side of the road, however the vehicle lost power with the boat trailer wheel still on the highway. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. “from a stop during fast acceleration made a left turn and rear section or rear axle sounded like it went over a speed bump or wheels locked up, then transmission felt like it was in high gear, did not want to move , or very slowly , i accelerated rpm was 2k or 3k still moving very slowly, this was in heavy traffic. I notice that check engine light went on with TC, parking brake service , some pad lock ( dont know what the ped lock is). 2nd time this happen the parking light service light went on and the brakes locked up again in traffic. 0”Owner report · Service Brakes · Aug 2026

Recalls - 2 campaigns
OEM Systems, LLC (OEM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Silverado vehicles. The rear bumper mounting bracket may not be sufficient for towing, which can allow the towed trailer to detach from the vehicle.
Remedy: OEM will replace the rear bumper mounting bracket and hitch, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in August 2024. Owners may contact OEM customer service at 1-800-810-7252.
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2025. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N252494000.
