What is going on and how it gets diagnosed
P0747 says pressure control solenoid A appears stuck in the on position - pressure present when the computer commanded none. Where a stuck-off solenoid causes slip, stuck-on causes the opposite: a clutch applied at the wrong time, felt as clunks, binding, or the engine bogging in a gear it should not be in.
The mechanical story is usually contamination lodging the solenoid's valve or its bore in the valve body. The same triage applies as for its stuck-off siblings - fluid condition first, solenoid second, valve body third - with one addition: because a stuck-on solenoid can genuinely bind the drivetrain, do not shrug off harsh clunks while waiting for an appointment. If engagement becomes violent, park it; drivetrain shock loads break expensive things beyond the transmission.

“When driving, the vehicle's computer detects an issue with the vehicle's transmission and throws a "Reduced acceleration. Drive with care" which causes a strong jerk like if the wheel locked up momentarily. The check engine also turns on and the vehicle stays stuck in 5th gear at all times. “Will pulling camper, truck lurched with hard shift at around 35mph and caused a sudden slow down in traffic. Truck then went into limp mode with engine light illuminated. Pulled over to turn vehicle off and restart. Attempted to gain speed again and similar lurch with hard shift at around 35-40mph. Vehicle again in reduced power mode. Was able to ease truck to dealer where code reader showed P0700 and P0747. This was similar to issue found in recall for model years 2020-2022 with GM 10L1000 transmissions. There has been a technical service bulletin issue by GM regarding models years 21-25 but no recall. “Got Engine Light and Reduced Power Message. Took To My Chevrolet Dealer Engine Codes P0700 and P0747 Which are Transmission Control System Malfunction and Pressure Control Solenoid A Stuck On. When this happens the truck stalls but keeps running in Limp Mode. I was told by Chevrolet Dealer it was a common problem with the 10L80 Transmission and it needed a New Valve Body installed.
