“Was driving east on i40 between Hinton and calumet when my truck through a check engine light and service parking break. I pulled over it smelt like burning wires I cleared the codes with a code reader and turn the truck on the accessory when smoke filled the cab I got out and the truck was in flames.”Owner report · Power Train,Electrical System,Wheels · Jun 2026
“The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving or while parked, the tailgate unintendedly opened on several occasions. The contact related the failure to the tailgate exterior touchpad switch. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000(LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.”Owner report · Latches/Locks/Linkages · May 2026

“GM should be ashamed of themselves not covering the shift to park issue that they have created. This is a known issue and should be recalled. It is impacting thousands of consumers.”Owner report · Engine · Mar 2026
“The high pressure fuel pump “grenaded” while driving on the interstate. Caused an immediate shutdown and barely got off the main lane to the shoulder in extremely heavy traffic putting me, my wife and others in imminent danger. The components were inspected by the dealer mechanic and insurance adjuster and they said that is what happened and that there was no reason for it to have happened. A warning of reduced power appeared about 3 seconds before the truck completely shutdown.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Mar 2026
“The entire infotainment system has gone black. Nothing shows on the screen. This is a safety issue as it does not show blind spot monitoring, heads up display, lane change warnings, allow hands free calling, gps, and much more. None of the safety features are available with a trailer hookup as well. We have taken it to a certified Chevrolet dealer who has said the truck was the 6th one that they have placed an order for in just over a week. The infotainment system is currently on back order which makes operating the vehicle concerning with its proper safety features.”Owner report · Electrical System,Lane Departure · Mar 2026
“My key refuses to come out of the ignition caused by a parking sensor is what Chevy told me. I feel it is a safety hazard because I have to leave my truck idling and take the risk of the truck not registering it’s in park and moving on its.”Owner report · Electrical System,Unknown Or Other · Feb 2026
“Switch fails in shifter assembly that is supposed to sense the vehicle is in park. Does not allow the key to be removed. Dealership explained that complete failure may cause the vehicle to actually get stuck in drive. Very common problem that typically occurs just outside of bumper to bumper warranty. Related to a cheap microswitch but requires $1000 full replacement of the shifter assembly.”Owner report · Electrical System · Feb 2026
“Will pulling camper, truck lurched with hard shift at around 35mph and caused a sudden slow down in traffic. Truck then went into limp mode with engine light illuminated. Pulled over to turn vehicle off and restart. Attempted to gain speed again and similar lurch with hard shift at around 35-40mph. Vehicle again in reduced power mode. Was able to ease truck to dealer where code reader showed P0700 and P0747. This was similar to issue found in recall for model years 2020-2022 with GM 10L1000 transmissions. There has been a technical service bulletin issue by GM regarding models years 21-25 but no recall. Dealer has ordered parts for TSB but repair not performed yet.”Owner report · Power Train · Feb 2026
“When putting vehicle in park, I get a message on dash that says "shift to park" when the vehicle is already in park. The vehicle electrical components does not turn off. Sometimes if I wiggle/hit or stick my hand under the steering wheel adjustment lever I can get it to turn off. Becoming more troublesome. Through research I see it is a common issue among GM/Chevy vehicles.”Owner report · Power Train,Electrical System · Feb 2026
