“The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V060000 (Structure). However, the recall remedy failed, and the front grille piece flew off the vehicle while driving at an undisclosed speed. The contact stated that the grille was loose, and the contact returned the vehicle to the dealer and informed the dealer that the recall repair was already performed. The dealer confirmed the failure but stated that the vehicle was previously repaired as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. “The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently failed to start and was jumpstarted on each occurrence. The contact purchased and installed a new battery; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where it was diagnosed that a corroded ground strap had caused an electrical short to the battery. The dealer replaced the ground strap, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact associated the failure with Customer Satisfaction Program: N252515590; however, the VIN was not included. “The hood molding flew off my vehicle as I was traveling down the interstate. I did not hit anything, it just randomly flew off of my vehicle. The piece flew off and just barely missed the vehcile behind me. If that would of hit the other vehicle, it would of caused damage to their vehicle, and potentially could of caused an accident. The piece that fell off was the trim piece that is diretly below the hood latch and above the front grille. There was no incidcators that this was going to happen. “The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, the contact entered a parking lot and shifted the vehicle into park and the message "Shift to Park" was displayed. Additionally, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. Due to the failure, the contact was unable to start the vehicle. “I was driving today with product resting on the tailgate and the tailgate dropped while turning a corner, spilling product on the street. It was a residential street, thankfully, but it has happened on the highway. Previously, I had bikes resting on the tailgate and the same thing happen. Tailgate will randomly drop while driving, especially with a little weight resting on it. I close it completely, but doesn't seem to matter. “The contact's son owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. While the contact's son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and the engine seized. The driver attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a fuel pump drive module failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump drive module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure was a known failure with the vehicle. “Had a prior recall a few months back on my truck in reference to the engine. My truck didn't have an engine issue such as check engine light etc etc etc which required attention. So they only changed the oil to a different velocity. On Sunday afternoon August 23, 2026 while driving on Interstate 20 near Longview, Texas the truck shut off. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500, 2021 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with diesel engines. The transmission control valve may fail and cause the rear wheels to lock-up.
Remedy: Dealers will install new transmission control module software, free of charge. GM will provide a special coverage program to cover the repair of transmissions that are identified by the remedy software as containing a defective control valve. Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2024. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, GMC customer service at GMC 1-800-462-8782 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. General Motors (GM) has decided that certain 2022 model year Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra vehicles equipped with an accessory sport bar. The accessory sport bar contains a high-mounted brake light that may not function. In addition, it may block the vehicle's existing high-mounted brake light. As such, these vehicles may fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the installation of the accessory bar and provide the correct vehicle wiring, if necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters advising owners of the safety risk were mailed on August 10, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 27, 2023. General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, 3500, and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have been repaired incorrectly under recall 24V797. The transmission control valve may fail and cause the rear wheels to lock up.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the vehicles and update the transmission control software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 6, 2026. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with chrome front grille deflectors. The attachments that hold the front grille deflectors in place may fracture, resulting in grille detachment.
Remedy: Dealers will reinforce or repair all attachment points on the chrome front grille deflector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 17, 2025. Owners may call GM customer service for GMC at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N242490120.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Remedy: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. This recall expands previous recall number 22V-827.
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge.
