In the process of replacing the I A C. My research indicates that the NHTSA is in the process of investigating complaints of this component malfunctioning across several Ford model vehicles. The abrupt loss of forward momentum is a serious hazard to myself, passengers and vehicles behind me. This has now occurred on about seven occasions since late September. “Code p2111 Dealership said throttle body needs to be replaced. Vehicle has only 67,336 miles. Was driving and the warning on the dash appeared "service engine now." I lost the ability to accelerate. Coasted out of traffic with what little ability the vehicle had left. Would have caused an accident in heavier traffic. Vehicle was towed to Ford dealership where diagnosed. “My vehicle lost power. A wrench icon appeared on the dash. I was entering a gas station so the car was in motion and I was able to park. I looked it up and found out it was a throttle body failure.. I had it towed to a ford dealer. I didnt trust to drive it. Ford could not duplicate the issue but the code was retained.p2111. The issue was not covered under the recall which was disappointing. If it's a known issue it shouldnt matter the yr and VIN#. It's a dangerous issue. It was covered under my extended warranty luckily and was repaired.”2014 Ford Edge · Sep 2020 · 33,000 mi
