2005 Jaguar S-Type: problems, recalls and reliability

“Tl* the contact owns a 2005 jaguar s-type. The contact stated while having an inspection performed, the contact was informed of a leak in the evap system. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing part number: xr850468 (carbon canister assembly) to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 06v418000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle owner was responsible for all repair costs. The vehicle sped over a curb and crashed into a wooden deck. The passenger side wheel detached from the vehicle. A police report was filed. The passenger was injured, taken to the hospital via ambulance, treated, and discharged the same day. The police confiscated the license of the driver. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.
