“While driving on interstate highway at normal speed (55-60 mph), all dash warning lamps lit up and i could hear a rattling sound and saw white smoke coming out of exhaust/back of car. Luckily i was able to safely pull car over as engine failed. I checked underneath car to see if anything was loose and did not notice anything. My car needed to be towed since engine was dead. Independent mechanic confirmed that engine rod bolts blew out and an entirely new engine was needed. All proper maintenance was completed and car was running fine with no warning lights or sounds/problems noticed prior to time of incident.”Owner report · Engine · Sep 2024
“My AC compressor is failing, despite the fact that the car is less than 7 years old (purchased Nov 2015) and was driven sparingly for two pandemic years. Other Hondas and several other 2015 car models are known to have AC compressor recalls, of which I think this is related. These units should not have to be replaced so early. Also, my dealer charged $400 just to identify the issue and wanted more than $1700 to fix it despite the part being available for less than $500. “While driving with no warning the power steering fails. The warning light then came on stating power system failure. Then just as quickly it began to work again before I was able to pull safely to the side. After checking the manual I set an appointment with honda of Huntington. They stated there was no error code for the steering and that I should drive the car till the light stays on. After that I took the car to my independent mechanic who also couldn't reproduce the problem. Two days later we drove the car for 1 hour and it happened again. “Honda currently has a recall for Honda Accords 2013-2015, #20V769. I happen to have a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid, but because my particular VIN is not currently shown as affected, they refuse to reimburse me and fix the other side. This issue is related to drive shafts that will break due to corrosion. I was able to fix the broken driver side left axle, but this is clearly a sign that my vehicle was also affected by this manufacture error as it happened the same exact way they described it on the recall. This could have been a much worse accident, luckily I was at a stop sign when it snapped. It simply snapped, no warnings, no lights, nothing.”Owner report · Power Train · Aug 2021
“The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated that the power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact drove slowly to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and it was diagnosed with needing the rack and pinion to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. “My power steering unexpectedly failed. I was on the road traveling approximately 30 mph and went to make a turn but could not without significant effort. “Takata recall: when starting the car, the engine light is on stating: "emission system problem & engine cooling system problem." this somehow trigger a safe fail mode that prohibits the car going faster than approximately 40 miles an hour. When the car was brought to the honda dealership for diagnosis, it showed dtc p2602 stored for electric water pump low voltage. They were able to perform the electric water pump performance and it cleared the code. But within 24 hours, the dtc returns and the engine light is on again and the car wouldn't be able go faster than 40 miles per hour..”Owner report · Engine · Aug 2019

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles manufactured August 29, 2013, to May 30, 2015. Electrical interference may cause the hybrid system to switch into fail-safe mode, disabling the gasoline engine, limiting the vehicle's speed to 40 miles per hour and functioning only on battery power. Once the battery is discharged, the vehicle will stall.
Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will update the hybrid system software, free of charge. The recall began on November 6, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is JT7.
