“I was driving at approx. 40 to 45 mph and in the process of braking for slowing traffic and the vehicle slammed on the brakes and left a short skid mark. I was about 50 feet behind the vehicle and braking when this occurred. I was lucky that the car behind did not rear end me. The collision alert did come on the dash at the same time it slammed on the brakes.”Owner report · Service Brakes,Forward Collision Avoidance · Jul 2026
“My 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid rolled backward while in park. I push-started the truck and then turned on the A/C to start cooling the cabin. I left the driver’s side door open as I stepped out to begin loading my 8-month-old baby’s stroller. The open door bumped my back, so I quickly jumped back into the vehicle to press the brake. The truck eventually stopped, but not before the door folded out and scraped the entire side of a parked car. I called the police to make a report.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Jul 2026
“The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact received the recall notification letter for NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V340000 (Suspension); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact had no other means of transportation. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed neither the recall remedy nor a loaner vehicle was available. The contact was referred to another dealer. The contact called Crossroads Ford of Sumter (950 N Main St, Sumter, SC 29150), who confirmed no loaner vehicle was available. The manufacturer was contacted but was unable to confirm whether the dealers had loaner vehicles available. The contact had not experienced a failure.”Owner report · Suspension · Jun 2026

“While driving, the red "BRAKE" light remains illuminated on the dashboard, and a "service brakes" warning message appears on the screen. This can be dismissed and the vehicle drives normally, except under sudden/heavy braking conditions. Under these conditions, the brakes make a grinding, thumping noise and the vehicle does not brake adequately. I suspect power braking was lost. I had to stop suddenly for a stoplight a few times, and the vehicle continued into the intersection before making a complete stop despite very heavy braking pressure applied to the pedal. The dealership replaced the brake booster, which they said was a "known issue". This was fixed at my expense.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Jun 2026
“Vehicle wobbles very harshly after around 45k miles put on the vehicle. Turns out it's a VERY common CV axle issue that the dealership doesn't have any sort of recall on. Feels very very unsafe to drive and its disappointing to see so many other drivers with the exact same issue”Owner report · Suspension · May 2026
“I was driving and the vehicle stopped like it was in neutral. I started rolling backwards into a vehicle. He honked and I slammed on breaks. I put flashers on. Waited a bit. Turned off and on and it started. I drove home and called service dept”Owner report · Power Train,Electrical System,Engine · Mar 2026
“The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that on several occasions, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted into neutral(N). There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stopped the vehicle and shifted the vehicle back into drive. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.”Owner report · Power Train · Mar 2026
“Windshield washer system failure, recurring problem. Last repaired 18 November 2025. Dealer did not replace the failed components. instead used compressed air to clear the clogged nozzles. As a federal regulated safety system, they should have quarantined the failed components for analysis by Ford engineering. NHTSA complaint number 11700184 was generated. If I can't clear the dirt from my windshield, not only is my safety compromised, but also all who I may encounter in an automobile accident. Not to mention innocent pedestrians.”Owner report · Visibility/Wiper · Mar 2026
“CV axles failed around 42,000 miles. Purchased new tires due to one being worn. After new tires the front end was shaking on acceleration onto the highway. Vibration stopped once the vehicle got up to speed. The tires were rebalanced but that didn't help. The mechanic found the problem to be the CV axles. Once both were replaced the vibration finally stopped.”Owner report · Steering,Power Train,Wheels · Mar 2026
“Upon acceleration, the front end vibrates heavily. light pedal depression it isn't quite as noticeable. But medium pressure to gas peddle & it feels like the whole underneath of the engine/ maybe front axle is about to fall apart. the harder the acceleration, the more intense the shaking/vibrating is.”Owner report · Power Train · Mar 2026
