What is being recalled
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. The Body Control Module (BCM) may inadvertently deactivate one or both rear tail lights.
Why it is dangerous
Rear tail lights that fail to illuminate can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix (free at any franchised dealer)
Dealers will update the BCM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 10, 2024. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S24.
Recall repairs are always free, regardless of vehicle age or where you bought the car. Quote the campaign number 24V-293 when calling a dealer.
