Loss of power steering, Truck repaired by GM dealer, he stated it was the same failure mode described in Recall notice N2023254 10. The repair even though the same as the previous failures was not covered by GM because my VIN was not in GMs recall notice. Looking at this website there a number of reports of power steering failures for later model Colorado and Canyons that were not covered by the recall. Either GMs fix was not effective, or they did not select the right VIN population. So the Power steering failure repair on my truck even though it is the same failure mode as the previous recall was not covered by GM.Owner report · Steering · Jul 2026
My key was getting stuck in the ignition back in 2024 and the dealership replaced my shifter assembly. I am now having the same issue later after 2 years and I am out of warranty and now having to pay out of pocket. My sister has the same truck, year and color and had hers replaced. Also the service advisor said they've had two others come in with the same truck and had the same issue. I am unable to remove my key for quite some time once it gets stuck and I called Chevrolet themselves and they are telling me there is nothing they can do.Owner report · Electrical System · May 2026
When turning off the vehicle the key gets stuck in the ignition. I have to keep turning the vehicle several times and keep moving the shifter to get it to release at least 4 to six times before the key comes out. This happens daily. It started in May and continues to be a daily happening.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · May 2026

When turning off the ignition, the key will not go all the way "off" and the key will not release. If I turn the ignition back on and drive forward and backwards and SLOWLY put the vehicle into Park, and then attempt to turn off the vehicle, it will occasionally allow it at that point. It appears to be a disconnect of the system recognizing the vehicle is truly in Park and when it isn't and thereby releasing the ignition off function. the engine does shut off but I think it remains in ACC and will not release. Maybe safety switch in the shifter assembly.Owner report · Electrical System · May 2026

in december 2025 i was driving my 2022 chevy colorado with 2.5 liter all of a sudden with no prior warning or lights i have an extremely hard brake pedal could barely stop i wasnt far from home when i pulled into drive i left it running to check brake fluid saw some smoke . i pop hood and saw brake fluid full but smoke coming from the back of motor i couldn't tell where so i walked around to look underneath and saw oil all over. i shut engine off and had towed to chevy dealership diagnosis vacuum pump failure with engine damage.Owner report · Engine · Dec 2025
The plastic piece on the heater blend door actuator breaks. There was a recall or a service bulletin (2016019) on this issue for the 2015-16 models. The problem still exists, but Chevy will not acknowledge it and the consumer is left to pay a ridiculous amount for the repair. How are they allowed to keep making this product? Had I known I wouldn't have bought the truck.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Nov 2025
i am unable to remove the key from the ignition. i have to start the vehicle numerous times all while shifting the gear shifter back and forth between drive and park. after several attempts the key will finally release.Owner report · Steering · Sep 2025
Failure of the steering column to release the ignition key. The common failure occurs without warning or advance notice and may be an intermittent issue. Safety Issues: Unable to remove key from the ignition column results in: Inability to lock vehicle, potentially placing passangers at peril. Inability to properly park car as the steering wheel will not lock position, which results in a significant of roll away risk. Significantly increases departure time from the vehicle. Potential loss of property. Potential loss of Park Position of the transmission.Owner report · Steering · Sep 2025
