“The fuel line clip of the Land Cruiser got disconnected and started leaking gasoline while the engine was running. I had the car towed to Hammer Toyota and they had us pay for the hose to be reconnected. I’ve searched online and seen people have similar incidents, where the clip of the fuel line gets easily disconnected when driving over puddles. This happened as a defect, as no one had spent any time working under the car aside from the toyota dealership. I believe a similar issue has happened with the 6th gen 4Runner and a remedy was issued.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Jul 2026
“Electric oil pump for transmission failed at 16,000 miles -no immediate safety risk to my knowledge -the problem was reported by me and acknowledged by Toyota dealership (San Rafael) and replaced under factory warranty -I do not know if failed part was inspected by Toyota, police or insurance - was not to my knowledge -No warning prior to failure”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Jun 2026
“The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 80 MPH, the vehicle started leaning to the left and the right. The vehicle then overcorrected and abruptly swerved to the left and right again. The contact was concerned about the failure occurring while driving at higher speeds. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.”Owner report · Steering,Suspension · May 2026

“My LC LC has 31k miles. This morning, I do what I always do when finishing an outing. Put the vehicle in park, turn it off, and get out. Today, the inside door handle would not let me out. It was like it was disconnected altogether. The door was unlocked. That being said, I unlocked and locked sever times. Still wouldn't let me out. I eventually put down the window, pulled once and twice on the outside door handle, wouldn't release, third time, released. “My Toyota Landcruiser First Edition was locked and parked directly in front of my residence, right in front of my bedroom window. Thief broke the rear window, climbed in, and took 25 minutes to start the car before driving off without the factory alarm ever sounding. I reasonably believed a premium vehicle with a factory alarm would detect glass breakage or intrusion, but it does not. This appears to be a design vulnerability affecting theft risk.”Owner report · Electrical System · Nov 2025
“Was told the electric pump housed within the transmission failed and is not sold separately so I need a whole new transmission. No ETA on when that may actually happen. When I shifted from Park into Reverse, Neutral and Drive and then back into Park I get a horrible screeching sound and was told that the truck is not safe to drive.”Owner report · Power Train · Oct 2025
“Temperature control module, AC amplifier and/or blend door actuator not functioning properly. air flow manual controls non responsive at certain temperature settings. Blend door actuator improperly overriding manual controls and cutting airflow significantly.”Owner report · Electrical System · Sep 2025
“Distance between the road and the underside of the wheel arches in the rear differs by 1.25 inches. Rear sagging to the left. Left rear spring weaker than right rear. Accentuated body lean when taking a right hand turn. Same load over each wheel causes more compression on the left spring versus the right spring. Toyota states the right to left is equal...this is not case.”Owner report · Suspension,Service Brakes · Aug 2025
“While driving on highway in New Jersey we heard something that sounded like a gunshot. We pulled back the sun shade for the sunroof and discovered sun roof had exploded.”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Jun 2025
“Brakes on a relatively brand new vehicle are squealing and creating a metal on metal sound. I am worried that the brakes on this vehicle are going to fail and cause a serious safety issue.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Apr 2025
