The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.”Owner report · Air Bags · Sep 2024
“While parked and waiting for drive-thru service, my Nissan Rogue began to smoke and immediately turned into flames under the hood. There was no malfunction or problems before this incident. Approximately 15 minutes prior to the incident, the driver stopped and filled truck with gas. After driving from the gas station, the driver went approximately 10 miles for food, where the car began smoking, and flames coming from under the hood. There were no warning signs, messages or malfunctions prior to this incident. The car was running quietly and smoothly and had not encountered any problems prior to the incident.”Owner report · Electrical System · Aug 2024
“I have a 2010 Nissan Rouge that is having powertrain issues, specifically the CVT, three times, after driving a long distance in very hot weather, and then going on a long uphill grade, the vehicle lost power. It dropped from 70 to about 40mph, this happened on two interstates along the same stretch and a third time on a California state highway. I did some research and found that this is a common problem with the Rogues powertrain's CVT over several years and there was also a class action lawsuit for some years of this Rogue, but not for a 2010. Nissan did pay for some repairs on other years to the lawsuit claimants.”Owner report · Power Train · Jun 2024

“Safety put at risk due to horn not being able to work and the primary reason for this complaint is the engine. The car stopped accelerating, which was resolved, but then the car would no longer go in reverse!!! It is unknown why this has happened. We suspected the CVT prior to even learning of the CVT class action lawsuit. Please advise! Thank you for your time and consideration!”Owner report · Engine · Jan 2023
“NHTSA & Nissan Consumer Affairs, My financed 2010 NISSAN ROGUE S/SL/KROM passenger side airbags as well as front passenger side seat released. Strange thing: No car accident or major hit or impact for this to cause a release of airbag.”Owner report · Air Bags · Oct 2022
“While driving the vehicle at average highway speeds for over one hour approximately, the CVT transmission fluid overheats, and an engine code PO744 is set. This code is followed by reduction in engine power and speed limited to a safe mode of 25 mph. The danger of being rear-ended while attempting to safely exit the freeways here in California is high. This has happened multiple times on different roadways, uphill, downhill, and through the desert Nissan has many technical service bulletins, but no recalls. A CVT for this 2010 is $4000 or more, later models received a CVT fluid cooler, this year it's almost $1400 to install with no hopes the CVT will hold up.”Owner report · Power Train · Sep 2022
“The airbag light is flashing and my husband has tried the solution that was told would stop it. Did not work. Had the car put on a scanner and the results were the passenger seat airbag has a defective part. Dealership wants over 2000.00 to fix problem. It was a recall for the problem but doesn't include the year 2010. I don't have money to have this fixed. Safety issues don't have airbag on passenger side...”Owner report · Seats · Aug 2022
“I was driving along at 50 mh and all the sudden drops down to 30 mp and even thought I push peddle to floor it won't go above 40 mh and starts trying to cut off this has happened a few times to me as well as my mom who drove my car. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed ..”Owner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Jun 2022
“C/S Air Bag Light illuminated on dash. took it to Nissan, they informed me that Vehicle clock Spring internal failure, and it will cost m $617.89 to replace clock spring and reset DTC and realigned steering angle sensor.”Owner report · Air Bags · Oct 2021
“The airbag light on the dash started flashing indication something has a malfunction and the light showing passenger airbag is off. The vehicle was taken to Larry Miller Nissan for a $176 diagnostic. They related the passenger sensor for the airbag had failed in the seat cushion and the airbag would not deploy in an accident to protect the passenger. They said $2,526.69 is the cost to fix the problem. This is obviously a safety issue and should be corrected by the manufacturer. This started approximately 10 days ago. The vehicle was taken in on the earliest date available. Is the manufacturer responsible for making sure the airbags function properly in the event of an accident? Thank you”Owner report · Air Bags · Sep 2021
