While driving, the vehicle will randomly shut off and lose all power. If I jump the car, it starts up and runs fine for a while. Also, there have been several incidents when I park the car, and it immediately loses all power and needs to be jumped. I have had the battery, alternaor and starter checked, and all are working fine per the mechanic. There have also been instances when we are pushing on the gas pedal, but the car appears to be losing power, and we have to pull over to the side of the road, wait a few minutes, and then the vehicle will start and run fine.Owner report · Electrical System · May 2026
This 2017 outlander has had issues with the tire rod multiple times. It needed to be fixed approx every three months and the tires needed constant changing as well. This vehicle had a timing chain issue which left me stranded in the middle of the high way. the power stopped, the car started to jerk back and forth and it would power off. We had to get this car towed to three seperate mechanics as no one would work on a mitsubishi and I was told it was the timing chain with possible engine damage. Prio to all of this happening the radio and electrical system would freeze or automatically turn off and on, it never resolved and blue tooth was rarely able to be used.Owner report · Wheels · Aug 2022

Has been happening for a few days now I try to start the car and it seems as it will fail me soon. I went to a mechanic and they told me it's a problem with the ignition or starter. It's a new car bought it brand new in 2017. I believe they should also recall the 2017 mitsubishi outlander sport. Also seat belts don't lock .Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Jan 2019
