Transmission failure to shift to third gear after replacing transmission with other unit less than a year ago. ( april 2005) makes a loud bang when downshifting to 1st gear upon stopping. *nmOwner report · Power Train · Jan 2006
Purchased a vehicle at eastaboga auto sales. Drove the car for 1 day the transmission started acting up I took it back to where I bought it he told me to drive it a couple of days because he had just put a new motor in it and it had been sitting up for about 8 months to drive it and let everything get broken in.so the next day I went to drive it and it wouldnt move . So it sit in my yard for another day. Finally ihad to have my husband push me to get it back to where I bought it .he said he'd find a transmission so now he wants me to py $900.00 to fix it and all I want him to do is give me my money back because he has the car. But he refuses to do anything. What am I suppose to do?Owner report · Power Train · Jul 2003

Overdrive fluid is leaking, about a year ago the consumer took vehicle into the dealer to get recall repairs done, but all dealer did was take a look at vehicle. Then, determined that the vehicle was not leaking. They did not replace anything. Currently, they do not want to do anything about it.*ak recall campaign 98v16800. *mjOwner report · Power Train · Jan 2002
Car while driving starts idling and then starts clicking inside and the shuts off then starts right back up again also burns oil. *akOwner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Sep 2001
My 1991 mitsubishi galant stalled while driving 3 times over 3 months. One day, the car wouldn't start after driving it to work. The electronic control unit was replaced in a shop. The car then had severe hard idling problems. The servo was then replaced. The idling problem was not fixed and is still present. Now the car has trouble starting with a brand new computer.Owner report · Electrical System · Nov 2000
When engine or transmission is cold and consumer steps on brakes, transmission won't downshift from a high speed. Vehicle feels like it is going straight through a light. Sometimes, there's a loud bang when stopping.*ak *slcOwner report · Power Train · Sep 2000
Consumer was told by the dealership that the recall repair (98v-168) could not be completed until they fixed a transmission leak which would cost $500. *mjsOwner report · Power Train · Jul 2000
Transfer case locks up rear wheels, causing a 75 foot skid. The car was towed by flatbed to stohlman 6/1/99. The damage was assessed, and is still at stohlman due to lack of parts from mitsubishi. I have called to get an estimated completion date from service mgr. Gary beavers, but he will not give me one. I find this highly unacceptable, especially due to the fact that I could have been killed had I been driving at highway speeds when this component failed. I have contacted mitsubishi customer service and the dealership to try and secure a rental vehicle or a loaner vehichle to no avail. Please feel free to contact me at my home number or my cellular number (cell 703.973.7016) *akOwner report · Power Train · Jun 1999
My transmission computer has failed, even after spending money on a replacement. Ofcourse only after the warranty on the replacement part expired. My transmission itself is also bad. Needs a complete overhaul. Dangerous to drive. *akOwner report · Power Train · Aug 1998
