While driving at approx. 65 mph the cruise control went off and three warning lights came on including ABS and 2 other next that one looking like a swerve control or slippery road condition and another tire looking light. Not sure of other two light as this was my first drive in this vehicle which I had driven around 800 miles this day. I pulled over and attempted to get back on the road as I was in a dangerous location on a steep hill. Upon restart it started to rev then brake multiple times causing great danger in my attempt to get back on the road. I immediately went into next side exit and ship off. It was an extremely cold night and I had to spend the night in my vehicle.Owner report · Forward Collision Avoidance · Jan 2021

Takata recall - I received a recall notice for the driver's side airbag prior to receiving a recall notice for the passenger side airbag on march 2018. I took my sprinter to the dealership on september 12, 2018 for replacement. After receiving my sprinter back from the dealership, I noticed that only the driver side airbag had been replaced. I contacted the service department about this, and was told the passenger side airbag part was not available and would not be for several months. Considering how dangerous these airbags are, it seems that a wait time of currently seven months and expecting a delay of another several months is unacceptably long.Owner report · Air Bags · Mar 2018

AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE18V032000 · Jan 2018

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2013 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.

Remedy: DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag module, free of charge. Daimler issued an interim notification to owners on March 13, 2018. The recall began December 28, 2018. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267.

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500 and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vans. These vehicles were manufactured without a reinforcement plate and protective bracket on the air bag control unit. As a result, the air bag control unit may not remain functional after the initial impact, possibly preventing additional air bags from deploying in response to a secondary impact.

Remedy: DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will install a reinforcement plate and protective bracket around the air bag control unit, free of charge. The recall began on May 26, 2017. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267.
