“Hello. Since I bought this car in 2015. Every now and again it will go into park when driving and tge car will stop suddenly. It has done it a few times over the years and it's quite scary. Mercedes has put me off on you, without addressing the situation or looking at the car, unless I pay first it. “The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. The contact stated after refueling; while driving 65 MPH, there was an abnormal gasoline odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not under recall. “The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle inadvertently shifted into park(P). The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where a technician test-drove the vehicle and experienced the failure; however, the technician was unable to determine the cause of the failure. “The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse, the gear shifter was in reverse position however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact then shifted into drive but the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The tow truck driver was contacted and shifted the vehicle into neutral and the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that no issues were found. The vehicle was not repaired. “Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V010000 (Air Bags) however, the dealer informed the contact that the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue but did not provide any assistance. “My car goes abruptly into park while driving or reversing at 5 mph or less. This is a big safety concern if it ever suddenly stalls in a highway, I may get into a life threatening accident. There are no warning or sensor lights that light up when this happens. The driver's air bag may unexpectedly deploy due to insufficient grounding of the steering components if an electrostatic discharge occurs and the air bag clockspring is broken.
Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will add sufficient grounding to the steering components, free of charge. The recall began in December 6, 2017. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-877-496-3691.
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2013-2017 vehicles due to a software fault that may cause the date and time for the emergency call system (eCall) to differ from the actual date and time, potentially relaying an inaccurate vehicle location. Remedy: MBUSA has initiated an Over the Air (OTA) remote update. MBUSA will also notify owners, and dealers will check software for a successful OTA or update the communication module software as needed, free of charge. The recall began December 23, 2019. These vehicles are equipped with air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag module, free of charge. The recall began March 29, 2019. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
Mercedes-Benz USA LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2013-2014 C250, C300 4MATIC, GLK250 4MATIC BLUETEC and GLK350 vehicles, 2013 C250 Coupe, C350, C350 4MATIC Coupe, C350 Coupe and C63 AMG Coupe vehicles, and 2013-2015 GLK350 4MATIC vehicles. The steering coupling connecting bolt may have been insufficiently tightened, possibly resulting in a loss of steering.
Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the steering coupling connecting bolt, tightening it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 2017. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
