I am on military orders and am planning on shipping my jeep wrangler to my next duty station located in lima peru. I am told that prior to customs shipping the vehicle it has to be clear of all recalls. The local dealership in san diego located at 777 camino del rio s san diego ca phone # 619-224-4151, is telling me that they will no longer perform recalls due to the age of the vehicle. I was wondering if you could help with this situation. Gas tank overflows every single time it is filled up, if it wasn't for me having to hold in the nozzle the entire time and noticing it is overflowing, it would just keep overflowing gas onto the ground. *trOwner report · Fuel System, Gasoline · Aug 2011

VIN [xxx] I have a 1992 jeep wrangler saraha yj with about 150,000 miles. This is the third time that the tilt steering column broke. There seems to be a shear pin which keeps the tilt steering mechanism in position. When the shear pin breaks the tilt steering just flops up and down. Periodically the shear pin on the tilt steering breaks. It just broke again for the third time in about 5 years. It costs about $300 to fix. The mechanic said that this vehicle has a propensity for this problem. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*trOwner report · Steering · Jul 2011

Gas tank leaked gasoline while I was traveling on the highway. *jb the consumer had to take the vehicle back to the dealer on 4 occasions. The fuel sending unit and gasket tank was replaced under recall. Two days later, it was replaced again. One month later the consumer continued to smell gas and the tank and gasket was replaced again. The consumer stated the gas tank is still leaking. The consumer received an e-mail stating the crack on the tank had been there for some time and was not a result of it being damaged by the technician. The consumer was told the problem she was experiencing was not the same as the recall. Updated 04/12/07 *jbOwner report · Fuel System, Gasoline · Jul 2006
