Tthe 4.7 engine suddenly quits while driving, both at high and low speeds.. I have had to pull into breakdown lanes if any, with no powers steering, and at great risk coasting across lanes to safety. The jeep dealer in my area said therenare no recalls, although many people have had the same experience with the engine quitting. This is an extremely dangerous defect, especially if you cant get over to a safe spot.Owner report · Engine · Mar 2023
I Have a similar if not the same complaint as the one on file here form Liverpool, Tx on 12/14/21 - I also have a 2007 Jeep Commander and am having issues with the ignition and contact to start the vehicle. The key at time gets stuck in the ignition, is difficult to turn the ignition and rarely turns on on first turn... It has a failure of contact... and usually requires various attempts to actually ignite and turn engine on. When researching on social media this is a large complaint from owner of vehicles of same make year and model Please adviseOwner report · Electrical System · Oct 2022
It randomly loses all power and it seems to shift erratically at this time as well. The check engine light dings once then disappears with out storing a any codes to diagnose. It only does it while I'm driving and if it happens while braking it loses the ability to brake. Very dangerous car, bought from dealership, told it had no problems due to not having any check engine lights and didn't do it on the test drive. AS IS WARRANTY.Owner report · Service Brakes · Feb 2022
