According to the official jaguar web site this only applies to 1995 vehicles and newer. The motor winch gets stuck and now a component of the assembly has broken off. Please help. The dealer stated that they don't have the part to repair the seat belt. The contact was waiting on the part for two years. The failure mileage was 184000 and the current mileage was 191000. “The retractable seat belts for my 1991 jaguar do not operate. The seat belts are suppose to have a liftime warranty. I was placed on a waiting list the jaguar of tampa, fl 4/20 2009. I checked with them this morning 03/07/2013 and was told yes I was still on their waiting list for these seat belts. I haven't driven my car since.it sits waiting for the seat belts since 4/19/2009. “Tl*the contact owns a 1991 jaguar xj6. The contact stated that the cables for the seat belt module were replaced according to a recall. Currently, the restraint module is faulty and causing the seat belt to extend across the steering wheel while the contact is driving. He feels this is very dangerous and a safety issue because the seat belt can become tangled up with the steering wheel and cause a crash. THE NORMAL LOCKUP FUNCTION OF THE AUTOMATIC (PASSIVE) BELT REEL CAN CAUSE THE BELT MOTOR WINCH ASSEMBLY TO LOCKUP SUCH THAT THE PASSIVE BELT SYSTEM WILL NOT DEPLOY/FUNCTION OR GETS STUCK AT VARIOUS POINTS ALONG THE TRACK CAUSING THE KINKING OR BREAKING OF ITS CABLE OR DETACHMENT OF THE TONGUE.
Remedy: JAGUAR WILL REPAIR THE PASSIVE BELT SYSTEM IF THIS PROBLEM OCCURS OR HAS OCCURRED. JAGUAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS OF THE EXISTENCE OF A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON COMPONENTS OF THE AUTOMATIC (PASSIVE) BELT SYSTEM.
CERTAIN REPLACEMENT FUEL FILTERS, FRAM BRAND NAME P/N G3727, WITH DATE CODES X52911 THROUGH X60801 SEQUENTIALLY OR X600141 AND A MEXICO COUNTRY OR ORIGIN MARKING ON THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 18, 2005, THROUGH MARCH 21, 2006, SOLD FOR USE ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE AND ON CERTAIN SCHOOL BUSES. (TO SEE THE SCHOOL BUS ENGINE SIZES, CLICK ON "DOCUMENT SEARCH" AND THEN "BUS APPLICATIONS"). THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL FILTER WAS NOT MANUFACTURED TO HONEYWELL'S SPECIFICATION. AS A RESULT, THE O-RING MAY NOT SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE FUEL LINE.
Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).
