When shifting from "park" to "drive" vehicle bolted ahead at full acceleration without my touching accelerator pedal. Applied full brake pedal with no effect and could only stop vehicle by turning off ignition with key. Jaguar dealer advised me that "build up of carbon around throttle linkage" caused the problem. Extremely lucky to have suffered no injuries to anyone or collision damage. Vehicle traveled 75 feet across busy intersection at very high speed before I could stop it. *akOwner report · Vehicle Speed Control · May 1999
Driver's door locking switch on door latch went bad & broke. Would go up/down while driving. Also, while driving seat belt came undone & consumer went against the steering wheel. This had caused an interference in driving for the driver. Would have to shut vehicle off just to get the seat belts to retract. *akOwner report · Structure · Jan 1999
