The headliner of the car completely separated from the vehicle. If this happened during driving it would have prevented seeing the road. When presented with the issue the local Jaguar dealer indicated they have had other cars suffer the same issue. It is a known defect that Jaguar has not notified or recalled the vehicle.Owner report · Structure · Mar 2023
Most all internal buttons and switches including the steering wheel, dash and door switches are failing. Switches and buttons almost feel like they are melting. The sticky residue makes the steering wheel controls unreliable including turning on/off the vehicle, safety warning systems, windows, cruise control, lane assist, etc. Additionally, the goey buttons on the center console create the same concern for other critical functions of the vehicle. This is a known problem among owners and jaguar has not offered a reasonable remedy. One owner who had these same concerns was quoted $9,000 to replace the faulty switches.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Aug 2019
Car shut down while in toll booth. Would not recognize key everything went black on dash. Could not get out of car due to toll barriers. Then about 30 sec later message came on dash that needed to move key fob closer - I do not remember exact wording. I took key out of my right front pocket and wave it over start button. Was able to then start car. While driving home passenger air bag warning sensor came on and remained on the remainder of the time until I got home (about 40 minute drive. There was an adult in the passenger seat.Owner report · Electrical System · Jul 2017

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING14V714000 · Nov 2014

Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 F-TYPE vehicles manufactured August 31, 2012, to October 22, 2014. In the affected vehicles the seatbelt harness connector which connects the Seatbelt Tension Sensor (STS) to the Occupant Classification Sensor Control Module (OCSCM) may not have been correctly wired. The OCSCM senses whether there is an occupant in the front passenger seating position, and the STS senses whether tension on the seatbelt indicates a child restraint is being used in the front passenger seating position. Both sensors provide information to the restraint control module (RCM) which informs whether the front passenger airbag should be activated, depending on whether the sensors detect the seat is occupied and/or that it is occupied by an adult passenger.

Remedy: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will correct the harness connector wire configuration, free of charge. The recall began on December 3, 2014. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J047.
