On highway heading to hutchinson river parkway from throgs neck bridge in the bronx and the engine stopped responding to the pressure on the pedal. We were in heavy truck and car traffic but were able ,by luck to get into a stripped area to stop. We looked in the manual and found we could restart the engine by turning the ignition on after shutting it down. This happened 3 kmore times until we were able to get to a safe place and were advised by a local hyundai dealer not to drive the vehicle . We eventually got towed to our home on long island by aaa . Local hyundai dealer sent us to atlantic hyundai for repair.Owner report · Electronic Stability Control (Esc) · Jun 2018
When turning the blinkers do not make and audible sound with blinker working and blinker indicating on dash. Dealer confirms that faulty part is in instrument console at cost of approx $2500. This part should be considered a critical safety item and tested to failure for the life of the vehicle. Failure of this part can lead to accidents resulting in injury of death.Owner report · Electrical System · Feb 2018
Tire pressure monitoring system, there are frequently error codes reappearing with related relation to this vital safety feature. While the car is still under warranty the dealership has attempted to repair the issue several times, and yet the era code still reappear. They are unwilling to repair the tpms error light that continues to appear. It seems that this is a defect in the cars tmps system.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Apr 2016
I paid a premium for an in-dash navigation system. Hyundai has now decided that they are not providing map updates for vehicles purchased before 2011. Despite complaints to their customer service line and a letter to their president, I am being told that I am out of luck and there is no fix for out-of date maps. Seems to me that the manufacturer has an obligation to provide map updates for the navigation systems in their cars and hyundai has ignored that responsibility. This is a safety hazard.Owner report · Equipment · Mar 2015
On wednesday november 5, at approximately 5:40am, the 2009 azera came up to an intersection. Failure to stop caused the driver to run the stop sign. The car became lodged underneath a semi tractor trailer, and was dragged several feet before the semi stopped. The driver of the car was killed instantly. He did not have a medical issue that caused the accident. The driver drove this road everyday to work. They were aware of the stop sign, and had a spotless driving record. Unfortunately there is nothing left of the car to prove that the brakes failed. Only the trunk remains. *trOwner report · Service Brakes · Nov 2014

The gps unit is out dated with hyundai. Called several times to get update, hyundai says they no longer use lg who did all the gps updates, after using the gps I ended up in wrong location, putting me onto a wrong way street, causing me to drive on a one way direction with oncoming traffic head on, then it told me to take a street that put me almost in the ocean. I do believe hyundai should be recalled for this alone, after a post on facebook, this seems to be a nation wide problem, and a class action lawsuit. *trOwner report · Equipment · Oct 2014
