“Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that upon obtaining the vehicle history report, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle's mileage was 89,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 161,158. “Each time I applied brakes I would hear a scraping sound in sync with a point or span of tire rotation. Then as I was attempting to stop at a red light the brakes failed. The nearest place was OR automotive and they rebuilt rear braking system yet I could hear the same scraping sound. So I carried the car to Honda dealership. They adjusted brakes $237.00 and replaced $341.00 the two rear drums. The sound remains and is magnified. They are claiming it is because e brake cables stretch. “-Two back seat belts have malfunctioned. The back driver side seat buckle has unattached from the car. The middle back seat belt came unattached from the car. It is available for inspection but have an appointment to get fixed tomorrow. -Mine and my family's safety was put at an INCREASED risk for danger. Two seat belts have malfunctioned in the back seat just from normal wear. My infant daughter rides in the back seat and I trust that the seat belts would function correctly for normal use! -I am not sure. “The trunk lid hasn't been right all along. I can't tell you how many times it has come down and hit me on the head. Now, the bar that keeps the lid open has snapped and the trunk will not stay open by itself. It closes with such force, it could really injure a person,. “Front wheel passenger side seat belt is got locked and got stuck beside the seat due to design flaws with seat. It's now no more in use until the issue has been address. We have tried to contact local honda dealers but they are entertain our complaints. This issue is bothering us to travel together with family due to safety measure failure. The front passenger air bag inflator may have been installed incorrectly during replacement.
Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inflator installation and, if necessary, replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly, free of charge. HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 HONDA CIVIC VEHICLES. TO PREVENT FUEL FROM LEAKING OUT OF A VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK INTO THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CANISTER IN THE EVENT A ROLL-OVER INCIDENT OCCURS, THE FUEL PUMP MODULE IS EQUIPPED WITH A ROLL OVER VALVE (ROV). DUE TO IMPROPER ULTRASONIC WELDING OF THE PLASTIC CASE THAT HOUSES THE ROV WITHIN THE FUEL PUMP MODULE, THE CASE MATERIAL MAY BREAK OR CRACK, WHICH MAY CAUSE THE ROV TO SEPARATE FROM THE CASE AND FAIL TO FUNCTION, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF FUEL LEAKAGE IN A ROLL-OVER INCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND IF NECESSARY REPLACE THE MODULE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 25, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009.
