“Anti lock brakes activate at low speeds. This has been going on for about 1 year. Took vehicle to service department 6 months ago and they would not service this problem. At very low speeds the anti lock brakes activate. The braking distance is greater when this happens. This happens everyday, but not every time the brakes are applied.*ak”Owner report · Service Brakes, Hydraulic · Aug 2004
“Broken wiper motor, will not be covered by gmc or dealer due to its a 1997 and has 110k miles. It happend during a rain storm and I was stranded by the side of the road for an hour. Now I cant drive in the rain, and they want 200 bucks to fix it. Why is it not covered under the recall? I called gmc and have record number 1-239-630035. *ak”Owner report · Visibility · Jul 2004

“While driving 65 mph, in inclement weather the windshield wipers failed. This caused poor visibility to the driver. The consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic informed the driver that the windshield wiper circuit needed to be replaced. Please provide further details. *jb consumer stated that the problem was consistant with recall. Number campaign id number : 03v159000 although the consumer missed this recall by a year the problem is still the same. ABS brakes at all speeds feel spongy and often goes clear to the floor. *tc”Owner report · Visibility · Jun 2004
“At speed, 20+mph, the steering will go out for a second or 2 as if it is on ice. I have noticed a recall on 98 gmc yukons,(#97v142000), but not on 97's. I have been told that it could be my steering box. These vehicles should not be driven in this condition. Steering will be lost if steering box fails completely, which in turn causes accidents. *nm”Owner report · Steering · May 2004
“Windshield wipers fail. Same part gmc uses in 1997 c/k series and 1997 surburbans have been recalled under gm recall number 03023. 1997 yukons should be included in this recall. The part is the same.”Owner report · Visibility · Apr 2004
“Intermitten drop in steering to the right, mostly during corners. About a quarter turn of the steering wheel. Was told to me by a mechanic that gm has known about this and there is only one part from the dealer dealing with it. No aftermarket item. It was told to me that it is a speed sensor on the steering column that governs the speed sensor for the power steering. Durning a turn at almost any speed, the steering drops out a quarter of a turn. Quite a shock to someone doing 60 miles per hour on a busy freeway.”Owner report · Steering · Jan 2004
