“The drive shaft is bad. My expedition is shaking very bad at high speeds it shakes the rear view mirror. I took it back to the dealership where I got it from 3 months after I got it because they thought it was the shocks. They replaced both rear shocks. Contol arms, body mounts. Got all brand new tires which have been balanced and rotated and the vehicle is still shaking at 60 + mpr. A while back in kept hearing a bird chirping noise but later found it that's due to drive shaft. Also of clunking going on under truck.”Owner report · Power Train · Mar 2025

“While iam driving my 2009 expedition on a highway its going to a limp mode means vechle automaticity lose power and go down to 20 miles per hour. 18 wheeler almost rear end me other day . This a safety hazard for me other drivers on the road. Called town east ford in mesquite and talked to chat in service department and he said there is no recall. I feel like this known issue should be on a recall.”Owner report · Power Train · Apr 2019
“Rear and front differential leaks caused expensive fixes. Fuel issue is that the sensor doesn't work correctly in very cold weather and constantly shows zero miles to empty on information panel. Caused us to fun out of fuel on a few occasions. On the fuel this happens in motion, the differential was caught on a tune up and fixed at that time.”Owner report · Power Train · Sep 2018
“Lower retaining bolt between strut and wheel hub has failed causing head of bolt to shear off (see photos) on front passenger side suspension assembly. Bolt head was found lying in driveway and sheared bolt was found on inspection of vehicle. Vehicle may have been in motion at low speed or stationary at time of failure. Appears to be material failure of the bolt in which a cracked formed and propagated across the bolt until the it could no longer withstand shear forces. Am concerned about the 3 other retaining bolts on this vehicle at the other wheels.”Owner report · Suspension · Jun 2018
“Tamara recall I was recently in an accident where my vehicle was totaled! I was traveling at approximately 67 mph and hit something at a dead stop. No airbags deployed.”Owner report · Engine · Oct 2017
“When driving at normal speed, once vehicle has stopped for stop light it begins to shake badly.also when in park it shakes, the motor seems to be rattled by standing still. We carried it back to the dealer for service it still has the same issue with the shaking.on city streets. If stop for light it shakes. We had the vehicle since november of 2015, aren't able to drive it much because of the shaking. Afraid to drive ,feel unsafe for road travel. Shakes with a loud noise, such as rattling noise, or vibration. Has continued for as long as we've had the expedition.”Owner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Jan 2016
“Tl* the contact owns a 2009 ford expedition. The contact stated that the hood and the rear liftgate on the vehicle began to corrode. The contact stated that the aluminum corroded and the paint started to fall off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 152,000.”Owner report · Structure · Mar 2015
“The brake sensor has malfunctioned and I am not able to take the vehicle out of park. If I depressed the brake pedal multiple times, it will finally sense the brakes and let me drive. Also, sometimes during driving the brake lights will not illuminate when pressed. Ford has issued a recall for this problem based on the date of manufacture. However, my model was not included as it was build 6 months prior to the timeframe outlined by ford. Clearly the recall needs to be expanded since the problem is occurring in a wider timeframe than was determined by ford. *tr”Owner report · Power Train · Jan 2015
