“Engine keeps throwing sensors and transmission has hard shifting and slips ford is against changing fluid because i have put mileage on it. Loses power at stop of red lights”Owner report · Engine · Jun 2026
“As I was driving into a parking lot space, I stepped on the brake pedal, and it sank to the floor. I rapidly pumped the pedal 2 or 3 times, but it continued to sink to the floor. As the car continued moving forward, I tried to avoid colliding with landscape items, drove between 2 parked cars, scraping one or both of them, and injured a pedestrian. My vehicle stopped when I jammed the gear control into the "PARK" position.”Owner report · Service Brakes · May 2026

“I have replaced my front brakes at least 3 times, something is wrong with the brakes on these cars. Started off fine then after 50,000 miles I've changed them almost once a year. Never have had a Ford that I've had to replace brakes so much. Love the car just the little things are hard to handle. Take my car in again this year for front brakes again. Really??? I have just over 90,000 on the car and every 15,000 to do brakes again is unbelievable.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Mar 2026
“My car skids when I try to stop the car(car breaking). This happening a couple of times during the past 2 or 3 days. My car mechanic just did a diagnostic and found out that the ABS Sensor module and electrohydraulic has system failure and needs replacement, but parts aren't available where I live (Puerto Rico). This is surely a matter of security I will appreciate if you can help us to find the parts need to fix this issue.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Feb 2026
“Shift to park message, not showing it is in park. Can only crank the car if you turn the key halfway and then shift to neutral to crank it. Once you put it back in park and set the emergency brake you can only crank it by repeating the process of Neutral cranking. Car will roll away without brake set. Driving is a concern as I am afraid it might pop into another gear. My year 2012 is not in the recall that effects 2015-2018 models but it's the exact same issue.”Owner report · Power Train · Nov 2025
“Loss of rearview image from backup camera. Intermittent blank, distorted, or inverted image when in reverse. Sometimes says "loss of signal". This reduces the driver's view of the area behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a backover crash. My 2012 Ford Edge is experiencing the same issues mentioned in 25V572 for the 2015-2018 Ford Edge.”Owner report · Visibility/Wiper · Oct 2025
“Brake pedal hitting the floor : issue comes and goes very rarely . First complain reported on april 2014: brake booster replaced on warranty. Last complain reported to original car dealer: could not identify the issue. In between these two dates, brake booster has been replaced recently. ABS hydraulic control unit may cause the brake failure, no ABS light yet. Ford honored an extended warranty on brake power booster in 2020. Performing a few repeated sudden stops at certain speed gets the brakes to how it should be. No accident ever involved.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Aug 2025
“The ABS system is completely shot. I have replaced the entire brake system besides the ABS. There is a recall on the ABS System for other 2012 Ford Edges, but for some reason my vehicle isn't included. Please consider including my car in the recall as this is a serious safety issue. I cannot even drive the car, because i am not able to brake properly.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Aug 2025
