“I took my car is for service at the Cadillac dealership and they stated there was an oil leak from the camshaft carrier. When I asked more questions they stated it was a fairly common problem with the XT4 and a few other models where there was a faulty seal at the "T-joint" (cam carrier T-joint). My car is no longer under warranty, but had under 26000 miles at the time. There were no warnings or symptoms. I would not have not if the dealer had not told me. The cost was estimated at $3254.45. If this is a common problem, why isn't there a recall?”Owner report · Engine · Jan 2026
“During oil change Cadillac mechanic noted camshaft oil seal leak. Video was provided. Mileage on car is 51,534 at that time. I feel that this is too premature and repair requires pulling the engine. Very expensive. Quote was $4,597”Owner report · Engine · Jan 2026
“Both running light modules failed due to overheating because there was no heatsink thermal compound installed on either unit. They had to be replaced. Repair was successful.”Owner report · Exterior Lighting · Sep 2025

“At around 17,000 miles the timing chain tensioner went bad. At cold start up you could hear the timing chain hitting the 'guide' until the oil pressure built up and provided enough tension. I was covered by an aftermarket warranty - which paid all the labor ($1700). I had to pay a $100 deductible -along for the parts ($300). I feel that this should be looked into and Cadillac should replace any tensioner that might be defective- since this could cause catastrophic engine failure. If you check - it does appear the 'new tensioner' part number is a revision- indicating Cadillac probably knows the old part number was defective!”Owner report · Engine · Sep 2025

“Toward the end of October 2024, my truck's check engine light came on. I took the vehicle to the dealership to have the oil changed. Two days later, the engine said, "Engine power reduced," so I took it to a repair shop, and they diagnosed the timing chain. I took it to another repair shop for a second opinion, and they also diagnosed the timing chain.”Owner report · Power Train · Oct 2024
“The passenger side DRL/turn signal is dim causing the vehicle visability to be reduced and other drivers unable to see turn indications, increasing the risk of crash. The design of the unit places undue heat near the circuit board causing the unit to fail. The driver's side does not have this issue. This is a known issue with many post on forums on it.”Owner report · Exterior Lighting · Oct 2024

The passenger's side daytime running light warning light was illuminated. The contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin No. 19-NA-184. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that there was no repair coverage on the vehicle for the failure.
