Car suddenly lurches forward, stumbles, stalls, goes into limp mode, nearly rear-ended on the freeway with my wife and child on board. Volvo says previous owner had software updated per recall, so nothing can be done. "that part probably needs to be replaced". Bought car at carmax, who will not do anything as I have owned the car for two years and warranty expired. *trOwner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Dec 2012

I purchased a 2001 volvo c70 convertible used with ~ 73,000 miles in 2006. It now has 93,000 miles. Last summer I had to replace the radiator because it cracked. On the evening of tuesday, december 22 while returning home on the beltway, I began to smell something and an up arrow indicating I should shift gear lit on the dashboard panel. I learned two days later, I needed to replace the transmission. Now I understand there is a fuel pump recall. This seems like a lot of major repair work in a fairly young vehicle with so few miles, and regular oil changes at every 3,000 miles and annual checkups. *trOwner report · Power Train · Dec 2009

1. Ets (electronic throttle control system) warning light came on while driving. This can affect drivability of a vehicle. 2. Throttle body for volvo 2001 c70 had to be replaced at a cost of $1075. 3. This is wide spread problem with volvo cars made from 1999 to 2001 affecting models s70, v70, c70, s80 and s60, but volvo refuses to compensate for the cost of repairs or issue a recall. *jbOwner report · Electrical System · Aug 2005
My vehicle is a 2001 volvo c70. We have been experiencing intermittent stalling of the engine while driving. The vehicle does not totally lose power, it last for a second or two. I am reporting this because I became aware of a government investigation of a similar issue. *nmOwner report · Electrical System · Jul 2005

I recently purchased a 2001 volvo c-70. Water is leaking into the door of my vehicle. After the dealer determined that they could not fix the leak, they obtained another 2001 volvo c-70. We found water leaking into the door of this vehicle also. This is a defect. I not sure if this is a safety issue, but the person on the 888 number told me that I should still file a complaint. She said the leaking water may be damaging the electronics inside the door.Owner report · Structure · Feb 2005
