“My vehicle has a fuel filter problem This car has a total of 3 recalls and the fuel filter flange is one of the recalls I've been told they fixed it before but I've never gotten it fixed maybe the previous owner I took it Volkswagen they said I have to pay for the recall. But what happens when the repair fails?”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Jan 2023
“The check engine light (mil) came on while driving. I experienced a lack of power and performance. Had it checked at an auto parts store and they said the trouble code was for camshaft/crankshaft positioning sensor. I replaced both camshaft sensors and the crankshaft sensor and reset the code. 400 miles later the light came back on. Took it to a shop and they said the timing chain had stretched and would need replaced to the tune of $2500. They also mentioned changing a problematic bolt on the oil pump, something they said had been an issue with the 3.6 liter v6.”Owner report · Engine · Mar 2017
“The brake booster continually goes out and the vw dealership can't find anything wrong. When the brake pedal is depressed several times in rapid succession either while you are moving or just standing still, it becomes incredibly hard to further push down and the brakes become almost completely unresponsive. So if you are in traffic and the car in front of you is constantly depressing their brake pedals, it is incredibly easy to rear end them if you don't allow for a lot of room between you and the car in front, which isn't always possible in traffic. Only after waiting for maybe 30 sections do the brakes return to a somewhat normal mode.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Feb 2016

“At 41000, the car started making a high pitch noise whenever driving. After getting a second opinion, it is determined that the bearing on the center drive shaft has failed. Called vw and confirmed the problem and that this part is not serviceable. The whole drive shaft (and a new coupler/flex disc) needs to be replaced. Vw genuine parts cost $1095 on the drive shaft and $270 for the coupler; labor is set to 3 hours. Searched the internet and is indeed a common problem for vw touregs v6/v8 and also cayennes. I hope vw makes this a recall as it makes an uncomfortable ride and could be a safety issue if not replaced in time. *tr”Owner report · Power Train · Mar 2012
