“Yes I wrote awhile back about my ball joint snapping in half going 55. It was the lower one but it wasn't where the ball joint was it was the metal part about an inch and a half from where the ball joint was. Due to rust. “Going slowly over pitted road noticed squeaking on rear end and brought to a mechanic. Was told frame cracked through due to frame rust. Vehicle is unable to be repaired. Toyota had a service bullitin but I was never notified and it expired in may of 2000. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cable sub-assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact received another recall notification regarding the leaf spring possibly rusting and puncturing the fuel tank; however, the parts were not available for the repair.
