“My Prius V has slow acceleration and the RPMs seem to go unusually high on acceleration. This makes it dangerous to pull out from a stop sign, etc. in certain situations that would be fine in another car of the same make and model. And recently it has started to throttle up when taking my foot off the gas and even when pressing on the brake. This happens intermittently and randomly. Fortunately no accidents have occurred yet and I'm trying to get the problems resolved with Toyota, but the dealer says it will be hard for them to diagnose when the problem is not occurring and there are no warning lights. Less than 60,000 miles on it.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Oct 2022
“Car hesitates after stopping at a traffic light (5/30/21). After a few seconds the car finally engages (accelerate). Happens infrequently. Car switch to neutral after stopping at a traffic light (10/12/21.) Car switch to neutral after stopping at a traffic light (10/15/21). Warning lights came on (10/15/21) Diagnosted: pressure control chip for the master cyclinder failed. After braking at a traffic light the car switched to neutral by itself and failed to acceleerate or move forward (10/16/21).”Owner report · Service Brakes · May 2021
“Very loud , rough, almost pulsating engine noise at low speed (about 20 miles or less), after the car being driven for about 20-30 minutes, the weather was about 35-40 degrees outside in the morning. Rough engine running lasts for about 1 minutes, it happed 4 times in jan/20 and feb/20. I brought the car to the local toyota dealer to let them know about the issue, dealer refused to scan for a diagnostic test, unless I paid $189 fee.”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Jan 2020
“The passenger side 2nd row seat belt is stuck, it doesn't roll or release making it unusable for a passenger to use it. When I roll my fingers up where it comes out from, I feel there is a kink, but I couldn't fix it. A seat belt shouldn't kink and get stuck. Now this seat belt is useless for anyone sitting in that seat.”Owner report · Seat Belts · Mar 2019
“I have toyota prius v 2015 but I was losing power and I took it mechanic several times and now it's seems like now it affected my engine or my gasket according to the mechanics.”Owner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Sep 2018
“Issue started after 2 years, when wet and cold as I back up and put my foot on the brake pedal, a very loud noise heard coming from the back? It lasts as long as I put my foot on the pedal. Expressed my concerns at peterson toyota dealer locally, but the technician stated that "it's normal", could be the brake hydraulic booster system? The issues still continue as of today. I do record the noise when it happens”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Dec 2017

If the vehicle has experienced an inverter failure with certain hybrid system faults related to this condition, the inverter assembly will be repaired or replaced, prior to software update. All repairs will be performed free of charge. This recall began July 24, 2020. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota's number for this recall is 20TB10 / 20TA10.
