The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where the mechanic diagnosed the failure at the steering rod assembly. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer advised that the contacts VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 05v389000 (steering: linkages: rod: relay: connecting) and would not provide any assistance. Upon further inspection, he noticed that the frame was rotted out and hanging from the vehicle. The VIN was unknown. Tl*the contact owns a 1991 toyota pickup. Three months after the vehicle was purchased, the contact noticed extreme rusting on the chassis underneath the vehicle. He stated that it was so rusted that there is structural damage. The oil and fuel lines were rusted and fell off in the middle of the road. The vehicle is currently parked and unable to be driven. The contact stated that they have never heard of this type of failure. They informed the contact that they would send out a representative to inspect the vehicle, but never did. Dt*: the contact stated while driving 60 mph, the driver's side front tire blew out due to tread separation. The dealership agreed there was tread separation. The tire pressure was 38. There were no lights on the dash illuminated prior to this incident. While driving approximately 30 mph on a clear day the contact veered slightly off the road applied the brake pedal and the vehicle spun sideways and rolled over three times. The vehicle was totaled. Consumer states vehicle began to vibrate at idle when the the truck was started and got progressively more notable and loud as the vehicle was being driven, when consumer lifted up the hood and looked into the engine compartment, he noticed the fan blade that was white nylon had exploded and several sharp shards of the fan were shattered and had been thrown throughout the front of the engine compartment,causing damage to the hood, consumer ordered the fan blade and installed it himself, however five months later vehicle began to act erractically again.*jbOwner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Jan 2001

ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, IF THE STEERING WHEEL IS REPEATEDLY TURNED UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS WHERE HIGH STEERING EFFORT AND POWER ASSIST ARE REQUIRED, FOR INSTANCE, WHEN FULLY TURNING THE WHEEL WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, A FATIGUE CRACK MAY DEVELOP IN THE STEERING RELAY ROD.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE STEERING RELAY ROD. THE RECALL BEGAN OCTOBER 5, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.

CERTAIN PRO-A MOTORS CORNER LAMPS, TURN SIGNALS, AND HEADLIGHTS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT LAMPS FOR USE ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. SOME COMBINATION LAMPS THAT ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.

Remedy: PRO-A MOTORS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER TO REPURCHASE THE LAMPS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 3, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PRO-A MOTORS AT 323-838-2988.

K2 MOTOR IS RECALLING 1,921 AFTERMARKET HEADLAMPS OF VARIOUS MODELS SOLD FOR USE ON THE ABOVE LISTED VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS ARE MISSING THE AMBER SIDE REFLEX REFLECTOR WHICH FAILS TO CONFORM WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."

Remedy: K2 MOTOR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER A FULL REFUND. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMEBER 17, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT K2 MOTOR AT 1-909-839-2992.
