“The windshield is severely distorted. During the daytime, while moving, or seeing moving objects, it is unusually hard to judge speed and distance due to the distortions. At nighttime, the distortions bend, twist lights and headlights making driving very dangerous. Multiple visits to the dealer and a visit from a toyota factory representative to inspect the windshield have been met with refusal to make repairs. The factory representative does acknowledge windshield defects but says "they are comparable to like vehicles." he refused to examine other new "like" models with me because his assertion is erroneous.”Owner report · Visibility/Wiper · Nov 2019
“I was in an accident yesterday morning. I was traveling about 20-25 mph and hit a parked car on the passenger front. The front bumper and fender on passenger side were severely damaged and the car was undriveable. What is concerning is that the airbags did not deploy nor did the setbelt lock. I sustained injuries to my left knee hitting the console, my left side of face including jaw hit the top of steering wheel and my forehead hit the windshield and broke it. “I was parking my car in my garage and moved from the brake to the gas to move up a small amount. I barely touched the gas and the car surged forward hitting a shelving unit in my garage. “4 way emergency flashers turn on and off intermittently at random while driving. Happened first day we owned car before we got home from dealer, then again 17000 miles later. Flasher button does not affect the flashing when this happens. Flashing stops when engine restarted, then starts up again randomly afterward. Happens while driving on highway. First time cloudy weather, second time cloudy and wet weather. First time dealer 'lubed' the flasher switch. Gulf States Toyota (GST) is recalling certain 2019 C-HR, 4Runner, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Prius, RAV4, Sequoia, Tacoma, Sienna, Tundra and Yaris vehicles. The text on the load capacity label may become illegible. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Remedy: GST will notify owners, and dealers will provide corrected load carrying capacity modification labels, free of charge. The recall began May 24, 2019. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 19R1.
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2019 Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid vehicles. The fuel filler pipe may not have been properly reconnected to the fuel tank during an inspection after vehicle assembly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, "Fuel System Integrity."
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel filler pipe, replacing it if necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 19, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota's number for this recall is K0I.
