00 v 319 000/tension adjuster spring: dealer, hinds motor sport, lewis, oh; phone# 740/548-5448, burned up consumer's motorcycle while performing recall repairs. Can NHTSA assist in this matter. Timing chain is stretching quickly, and if braking, it will will break the motor case. Motorcylce has only 2,000 miles. It was checked at 600 miles. Dealer showed consumer an article about chains stretching. They are aware of the problem. Also, consuemr has metal pieces sticking out of the seat. Consumer complained to the deaelr & was told to buy an aftermarket seat that they had nothing to do with. *akOwner report · Seats · Feb 2000

There have been many reports of subframes failing (breaking at the weld) on 1999 and 2000 suzuki, hayabusa motorcycles. In 2001 suzuki went to steel subframes rather than the aluminum subframes of the earlier models. Some failures have caused accidents and injuries. Suzuki does not seem to want to remedy this problem for the owners of 99 and 00 year models.*akOwner report · Structure
A large number of reports of this component failing on 1999 & 2000 models has generated my concern. Failures have been reported since 1999 and suzuki has not acknowledged a problem. Owners of these model years suzuki gsx1300r motorcycles need to be made aware of the potential failure of the subframe under normal usage. Reports have been made that a uk based engineering consulting firm has examined three individual subframes from these model year gsx1300r's and pronounced them "not fit for their designated purpose". Please look into this issue on behalf of the thousands of owners of this motorcycle.*akOwner report · Structure
Suzuki great britain provides free replacement of the aluminum subframe with a steel version. I think suzuki usa shold do the same. *akOwner report · Structure
