“Seat belt mounted to the door failed to restrain my son in the vehicle when he got into an accident. The door opened caused for him to be ejected and my son did not survive the accident. “Tl*the contact owns a 1993 pontiac grand prix. The contact stated that the pirelli p6 all weather tires (225 60/r16) on his vehicle were checked many times prior to them failing. He stated that the tires had two failed belts. The brakes on the front end were shaking and unevenly worn at 34,000 miles, even though the warranty was for 80,000 miles. “While driving,without warning the front seat would unexpectedly move from side to side. The driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle drove to the dealer. The driver noticed that the right side seat would repeat the problem as well. The mechanic informed the driver that the left and right seats needed replacement. CERTAIN DELPHI FUEL PRESSURE REGULATORS, P/NOS. FP10020-11B1, FP10026-11B1, AND FP10027-11B1, SOLD AFTER JANUARY 9, 2007, AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. THE UNIVERSAL PRESSURE REGULATORS (UPR) WERE PRODUCED WITHOUT AN O'RING AND RETAINER.
Remedy: DELPHI WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE UPR FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 23, 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT DELPHI AT 877-411-8770.
THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT SEAT MANUAL RECLINING MECHANISMS DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS 207, "SEATING SYSTEMS." THE SEAT BACK MECHANISMS WILL NOT LATCH UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
Remedy: REPLACE THE MANUAL SEAT RECLINER MECHANISM WITH A MECHANISM THAT COMPLIES WITH FMVSS 207.
