“I bought my van in March of this year (2026) and the fuel gauge will either show that the tank is almost empty (gas light on) or full. Sometimes it will show an accurate gas reading and other times it shows the gas tank is full. I am going to a dealership in the morning to see about getting it fixed under the recall or getting quoted to have it fixed. This is the only vehicle I own and I have to travel with my kids so I cannot ride around with a fuel can inside due to the fumes. I worry about running out of gas with my children in the car.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Mar 2026
“The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that the vehicle ran out of gasoline with the fuel gauge indicating that there was a quarter tank to a half tank of gasoline inside the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact was informed that the vehicle was under an unstated recall for the fuel leveling unit; however, the part for the repair was on a national backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the part was not only on backorder, but that the part for the repair was discontinued. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.”Owner report · Fuel System, Other · Aug 2025
“I was parking and barely moving with my foot in the brake when the vehicle suddenly reved up loudly. I had to depress the brake heavily to keep it from moving forward and put it in neutral. The vehicle continued to rev hard until I turned off the engine.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Jul 2023

“The fuel gauge shows an incorrect reading. The indicator shows that it is empty even when I refuel it with full tank. The car stops on the road as the fuel shows an incorrect reading which poses a dangerous threat. I have got the fuel pump replaced three times. It is very frustrating to spend so much time and money and not getting the issue fixed. The car also failed inspection because of this issue. There is a recall for 2007-2008-2009 nissan quests' but my 2008 nissan quest is not included in the recall!”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Dec 2019
“The car accelerates when I press on the brake. I have complained to the dealer about this is october 2018 and today april 2019. This is a pre-accident complaint. When I drive in stop and go traffic it feels like the ABS brake motor is trying to make the car go faster instead of stopping the car.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Mar 2019
“Tl* the contact owns a 2008 nissan quest. While driving 10 mph, the power steering seized and the contact had to use extra strength to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact mentioned that there was a leak from the power steering sensor. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.”Owner report · Steering · Oct 2018
“Tl* the contact owns a 2008 nissan quest. The contact discovered that the front section of the subframe was severely rusted. In addition, the fuel filler tube was rusted and caused fuel to leak from the vehicle while refueling. The cause of the failures was not determined. Jp motors nissan (3675 frontage rd, peru, il) and the manufacturer were notified of the failures, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 114,000. *pm*jb”Owner report · Structure · Sep 2018
“Takata recall my van has left us in the middle of the road multiple times at least 4. When ever it gets to a quarter tank of gas we get worried. It says we still have fuel but in fact is empty. I saw online that our van year has a recall but this website shows there is nothing for our van. It worries us because we have our kids in the vehicle normally and the last thing we need is for someone to hit us because we ran out of gas. We have been at stop lights and it just dies. We have been in motion and it just dies. My wife worked night shift and 3 am she was trying to come home and it was no fuel in it. I put the last date it happened below.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Mar 2018
“Tl* the contact owns a 2008 nissan quest. While stopped at a traffic light, both front air bags deployed without an impact or warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was driven home after the failure. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. There were no injuries. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.”Owner report · Air Bags · Nov 2017
“On city streets, the car accelerates when I press the brake pedal. The rpm increases and I am certain that I was not pressing the gas pedal. Universal attached a black box to the car but has refused to share the data. The latest service was done recently.”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Oct 2017
