2024 Nissan Kicks: problems, recalls and reliability

“The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while approaching the vehicle, it was discovered that the rear glass had shattered without impact. The vehicle was parked underneath a carport on a rainy day at the time of the failure. The contact stated that the rear glass had been intact during two previous visits outside before the glass shattered. The local dealer was not contacted. “The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while driving at 7 MPH, the rear windshield glass shattered. Neither the dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. Additionally, after shifted to drive from reverse the back over prevention camera screen failed to immediately turn off. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. “Rear windshield shattered while car was parked indoors. The car had been in the garage for several hours and the temperature was mild so underwent no extreme temperature/pressure fluctuation, rear hatch had been open for about 20 minutes as I was vacuuming the carpets. I was working in the front seat nowhere near the rear window - nothing came in contact with the window, there were no preexisting cracks or chips. “The vehcile was in a munor accicent. There was a rock in the road on a roundabout. The rock popped the front left tire causing vehichle to go out of control. There was some undercarriage damage to the control arms. There was no body damage. No rollover. No other vehicle involved. There was some wheel damage on the right side due to the curbing. As usual, the doors automatically unlocked when I pulled up, and I exited the vehicle. However, just as I stepped out and turned away, the car unexpectedly jumped from park into reverse, causing critical injury to me.
