The filler tube going to the gas tank ruptured. When I filled the tank, gas spilled on the ground. Fumes are always around the truck. I paid to have this tube replaced. The truck had 53 k miles. Now it has done the same thing at 74 k miles. I think that this is a very dangerous condition and is costly to keep repairing. *trOwner report · Fuel System, Gasoline · Dec 2008

My 1994 mazda b3000 pickup (I.e. Ford ranger) leaks gasoline when being filled at the filling station due to a faulty fuel tank filler neck. Fuel spills on the ground of filling station (approx 1/2 gal) and is a fire hazard. Cost to replace fuel filler neck is $280 from ford dealership, not including labor - this is prohibitively expensive for a rubber hose. Many other ranger owners experience this same problem, thus indicating that there's a defect in the design/construction of the filler neck. *nmOwner report · Fuel System, Gasoline · Oct 2005
