“The anti-reflective coating on the rear view mirror on the inside of the car is coming through the mirror causing black spots that obscure vision out the back of the car. This issue affects all 2006-2011 Lexus gs models. All oem replacements online have this happen to some degree. “The contact owns a 2007 Lexus GS350. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to start and there was a fuel odor inside the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was jerking while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic, where it was diagnosed with engine misfire and defective fuel injectors. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V012000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. “My vehicle has been making noises on start-up and in time it makes the same knocking noise while idling. I brought my car to my mechanic and he says it's my VVTI system failing and should be remedied under campaign 13V395000. The problem is holding Lexus accountable since it's not an open recall under my VIN. I've contacted Lexus directly and confirmed this service was not completed. “Low oil light came on 1000 miles after oil change at lexus dealership. Car was low 2.5 quarts of oil. Blue grey smoke was coming out of the car during acceleration and car smelled like poison inside very unsafe. Car has been dealer maintained for everything. Car was certified pre owned as well. At 100,000 miles oil consumption test was done and was in fact proved to be burning oil. Car is burning way too much oil. I've had 4 other vehicles none have burned oil. “Drivers side knee airbag reporting codes of short in squib circuit which comes and goes. Airbag light is on when active. Also randomly reports a code with open in squib circuit which also comes and goes. History reports has the codes active and clear. Codes are present and will not clear at this time. “Tl* the contact owns a 2007 lexus gs. While reversing at approximately 3 mph, the contact struck a pole. There were no injuries. The vehicle stalled and would not start and the check hybrid indicator illuminated. The vehicle restarted after 40 minutes, but the warning indicator was still illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and the warning indicator was no longer illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the hybrid battery was faulty and needed replacement. TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006-2009 LEXUS IS AND MODEL YEAR 2006-2007 LEXUS GS VEHICLES. DUE TO INSUFFICIENT TIGHTENING OF THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTED TO AN ENGINE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH NICKEL PHOSPHORUS PLATING, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT, OVER TIME, THE PRESSURE SENSOR COULD LOOSEN. IF LOOSENING OCCURS, FUEL COULD LEAK PAST A GASKET USED IN THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE SENSOR AND THE PIPE AND THROUGH THE THREADED PORTION OF THE SENSOR.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAKAGE FROM THE THREADED PORTION OF THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR AND IF A FUEL LEAK IS NOT CONFIRMED, DEALERS WILL FURTHER TIGHTEN THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR WITH THE PROPER TORQUE. IF A FUEL LEAK IS CONFIRMED, THE GASKET BETWEEN THE SENSOR AND THE FUEL DELIVER PIPE WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE, AND THE SENSOR WILL BE TIGHTENED WITH THE PROPER TORQUE. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 7, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.
TOYOTA IS RECALLING 214,570 MY 2006-2008 LEXUS IS, MY 2006-2007 GS AND MY 2007-2008 LS PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ALUMINUM FUEL DELIVERY PIPES (FUEL RAILS). ETHANOL FUELS WITH A LOW MOISTURE CONTENT WILL CORRODE THE INTERNAL SURFACE OF THE FUEL RAILS. AS THIS CONDITION PROGRESSES, THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT MAY ILLUMINATE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE FUEL DELIVERY PIPES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING FEBRUARY 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA/LEXUS AT 1-800-255-3987.
