“The contact owns a 2020 Kia Sedona. The contact was notified by the local Police that the rear brake lights were not illuminating as needed. The vehicle was later taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. Later while driving approximately 20 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal extended to the floorboard. The vehicle was immediately towed to the local dealer. “Nine times out of ten the third row seat doesn't latch properly. Usually one side will latch securely and the other won't. Then it gets stuck. Super dangerous and needs to be recalled asap. Kia Motors America (KIA) is recalling certain 2020 Sedona vehicles. The battery positive (B+) terminal nut on the alternator may not have been tightened properly during assembly, possibly causing it to loosen over time.
Remedy: Kia will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator B+ terminal nut, tightening it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began August 14, 2020. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC192.
