automatic start-stop system causing actual engine stalls instead of a smooth restart is commonly triggered by failing auxiliary/main batteries, a dirty throttle body, or faulty charging sensors It has stalled on highway in stand still traffic. Issues with getting it to go. Have to turn off the car and restart. Has occurred 3 times - downtown of a major city in traffic, on a busy highway and at an exit of a highway. Due to its nature we are stand still as traffic is moving Problem has been confirmed by dealer and has occurred to other compass owners Not inspected by insurance There is an error that appears on the dash right before it stalls.Owner report · Electrical System · Jul 2026
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly stopped, and the transmission failed to shift gears in the middle of the road. The contact pulled over at the side of the road and attempted to reset the "Service Transmission" warning light. Additionally, while attempting to drive to the parents' residence, the contact drove at a slower speed to prevent the failure from reoccurring. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.Owner report · Power Train · Jul 2026
Vehicle is a safety hazard my jeep compass stalks while driving or sitting in traffic without warning. After sitting at traffic lights jeep stutters and hesitates before going again. My 2022 compass has stalled on me a couple of different times since I have had it. The car is unsafe.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Jun 2026

Everytime I drive my vehicle all the ADAS lights go off and start dinging. I then reset the ones I can in the vehicle settings and drive to my destination. I shut off the car and when I come back and start it all the lights come back on again. This has been happening since I purchased the vehicle a year ago with under 40000 miles and Jeep didn't help me and refused to fix the issue. I have made multiple complaints to Jeep and my local Jeep dealership and they have been no help.Owner report · Lane Departure · May 2026
On 04/12/2026, I was stopped at a red light. The auto start/stop engaged. I removed my foot from the brake, the auto start kicked on, but did not reengage the engine. The notification panel suddenly started blinking, entire panel lit up. The parking brake automatically engage despite not being touched. The option for selecting terrain started toggling through all options. Vehicle then seemingly died. Put vehicle in park. Pressed button to restart engine. Car was successfully restarted.Owner report · Electrical System · Apr 2026

I found a bolt head and a washer laying on my garage floor. After looking under the vehicle, it broke off from where the right side front cross member mounts to the bracket that attaches to the vehicle body. I took the vehicle to the dealer, they said the bolt was on back order and had no time frame when it would be available. They said that the vehicle was safe to drive because there were five other bolts holding it to the body. The dealer kept the bolt head and washer.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Dec 2025
