“I found only general information that our 1999 jeep cherokee had two recalls. It is twenty years old and I would like to find out more about the recalls. We are most concerned to learn that there was an air bag recall sometime in the past. We have owned it since 2003 and never received a recall. The info said it was a NHTSA recall #00v105000. The other recall says it's an after-market fuel pump air tex electric fuel pumps for 1999 ' 2004. Please send us any information on this and what we can do about it, if anything. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Robert green chrysler dodge jeep ram (178 bridgeville rd, monticello, ny 12701, (845) 397-7532) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy because of the year of the vehicle. “Seat belt latch and buckle does not function properly, it is very hard to buckle in and when trying to unbuckle, it takes a lot of force, time and very unsafe. If left unbuckled the dash light or alarm never comes on to buckle up. This happens at all times, doesn't matter if stationary or moving. “Tl* the contact's daughter owned a 1999 jeep cherokee. While the contact's daughter was driving approximately 40 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front of the contact's vehicle. The passenger side air bag deployed, but the driver's side air bag failed to deploy. As a result, the contact's daughter sustained injuries to the left eye, laceration of the nose, a broken jaw, the front teeth shifted, and black eyes. Medical attention was required. The driver of the other vehicle passed away as a result of the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an impound and destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.

THE FRONT DISC BRAKE ROTORS CAN EXPERIENCE SEVERE CORROSION IF OPERATED FOR AN EXTENSIVE PERIOD IN THE "SALT BELT." IF THE ROTORS ARE NOT REPLACED, THE CORROSION CAN EVENTUALLY COMPROMISE THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE STAMPED STEEL CENTER HUB SECTION OF THE ROTOR.

THESE BRAKE CYLINDERS WERE SOLD UNDER THE BRAND NAMES OF NAPA, RAYBESTOS, AIMCO, AC DELCO, CARQUEST, BENDIX, AND WAGNER. ONLY PRODUCTS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 27, 2005 THROUGH JANUARY 17, 2006 (DATE CODES 0529 THROUGH 0602) ARE SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL. WHEN SUBJECT TO VERY COLD TEMPERATURES, AN INTERNAL SEAL IN THE MASTER CYLINDER COULD LOSE FLEXIBILITY AND MAY CAUSE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK.
Remedy: AFFINIA (BRAKE PARTS, INC.) WILL REPLACE THE SUBJECT BRAKE HYDRAULIC MASTER CYLINDERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 20, 2006. OWNERS CAN CONTACT AFFINA GROUP CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-323-0354.

THE PLASTIC ELECTRICAL GROMMET CONNECTORS AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH AUTOMOTIVE FUELS AND MAY DEGRADE CAUSING A POTENTIAL LEAK PATH FOR FUEL.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE AND LOCATE THE NEW MODULE ON THE TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION TUNNEL.
