“The contact owns a 2011 Jaguar XJ. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle began to decelerate independently, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway to have the vehicle towed. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had to roll down the windows while driving due to the odor. The contact stated that when the vehicle was refueled at the gas station, the odor of gasoline was very strong. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. “Takata recall - jaguar and/or tanaka should bear the financial cost to get our unit to a jaguar dealer. This is their serious deficiency. We live at least 150 miles from a jaguar dealer and it is patently unfair for us to have the financial and logistical. Burden. “Takata recall; while driving got a strong smell of gas inside the car. Pulled into service station and attended access fuel pump opening under rear seat. Fuel was shooting out of a small pin hole crack in the fuel flange top. Pooling up inside the fuel pump cavity and running down the outside of the fuel tank. Recall j059 on this fuel pump flange part number c2d25076 is on just 2010 xf models not on my 2011 xj which uses the same part. “Tl*the contact owns a 2011 jaguar xj. The contact stated that the heated windshield distorted his vision while driving. The street signs and lights also appear to have a halo and become blurry. The contact spoke with the manufacturer about the problem and stated that since the vehicle was leased there was nothing that could be done, because it would change the design of the vehicle. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2010-2011 and 2017 XJ vehicles. The Restraint Control Module (RCM) software may cause the frontal air bags to deploy improperly in the event of a frontal impact crash.
Remedy: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will update the RCM software, free of charge. The recall began October 7, 2020. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-369-1000. Jaguar's number for this recall is H294.
JAGUAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 XJ VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 28, 2009, THROUGH NOVEMBER 3, 2010. THE FRONT WIPER ARMS TO SPINDLE FIXINGS WERE NOT TORQUED TO SPECIFICATION DURING MANUFACTURING. AS A RESULT, THE SECURING NUTS COULD FAIL TO PERFORM AS INTENDED, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF WIPER ARM SYNCHRONIZATION AND A CLASH OF THE WIPER ARMS.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL ENSURE THE WIPER ARMS ARE FITTED SECURELY ONTO THE SPINDLE AND THE SECURING NUTS WILL BE TIGHTENED TO THE CORRECT TORQUE. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 13, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAGUAR AT 1-800-637-6837.
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2010-2011 XJ vehicles. If, while servicing the vehicle, the vehicle does not successfully receive an update to the Restraint Control Module (RCM) software, the default air bag calibration settings may be incorrect.
Remedy: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will update the RCM with the latest software, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2017. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H034.
