“On 5/18, I was reversing into a parking spot and my steering rack completely locked to the right, with no warning and while in motion, causing me to strike a parked vehicle. The car had to be towed and dealership mechanic said steering rack had an internal mechanical failure and needs replacement. After doing some research, I found forums of numerous people who have had this same issue. This is a known issue by Jaguar for this particular make model and year and they refuse to issue a recall. I had driven on the highway earlier that day and this could have caused a deadly accident had it happened at that time. This is a real safety hazzard for owners and others on the road.”Owner report · Steering · May 2026
“I was driving my car and all of a sudden my steering wheel became extremely hard to turn, and a warning appeared on my dash saying "power steering assistance reduced". It took all my strength to get around the next turn. Luckily I was near my home and was only a few turns from my driveway. My husband looked under my car and the steering rack was cracked. After investigating online, it appears to be a common defect among Jaguar F Paces, and the cracks occur in the same two places, one of which matched the crack on my vehicle.”Owner report · Steering · Apr 2025
“The timing chain is the issues and yes it is available to inspect upon request. My safety has been put at risk because this snap at anytime. My car stalls and has really rough idling. Yes I have reported this rattle noise but I was told nothing was found, the noise got worse with the idling and I was told my car was out of warranty and the timing chain was breaking down.It started with the misfire, then rough idling and now the engine light. The rattling started and was first reported at 50k miles.”Owner report · Engine · Jan 2025

“Backup camera and all parking sensors freeze when the car has been turned on and off in a short period of time and put into reverse. This happens about once a week. When I get in my car, put it in reverse after a short stop, the backup camera will freeze the image. The sensors will stop working, and the cross traffic detection will not work during this freeze. It lasts for about 30 seconds. Has not been confirmed by a dealer or service. No inspection done. No warning lamps or messages.”Owner report · Back Over Prevention · Nov 2024

“Korea has recalled this model of FPace because the timing chain is known to break with less than 50K miles. I have also read lots of posts on Jaguar forums about 2.0 Diesel FPaces being known to have timing chain failure which necessitated a complete engine replacement. I am terrified that my timing chain is going to come off and damage my engine every time I get in it.”Owner report · Power Train · Oct 2023
“Car doors would not open from the outside of the vehicle and would not respond to the key fob's signal either. The only way to get into my vehicle was to in climb through the trunk - which is a major safety concern. This first occurred on Janurary 13, 2023, and the dealership has been unable to resolve the issue since then, despite multiple attempts to do so.”Owner report · Electrical System · Jan 2023
