“My passenger airbag light is on and when I reported it to Infiniti, they told me it was the airbag sensor in the seat and that the entire seat would need to be replaced for a cost of over $2000.00. I understand there was a previous recall for the previous years, but not for 2010 models. In speaking with other Infiniti owners, I understand this is a common issue with the G37. Why has there not been a recall issued?”Owner report · Air Bags · Apr 2025
“Inspection of vehicle exhibits extreme front subframe crossmember deterioration where condensation from air conditioning leaks onto and sits on crossmember. Afftected unit shows severe corrosion only on one side. This appears to be a very common issue surrounding vehicle model generation. Can lead to the front right control arm becoming unsupported and leading to loss of control of vehicle and fatal highway accident. Please investigate weather this issue is a safety concern from an engineering issue and requires corrective action from the manufacturer.”Owner report · Suspension · Jun 2023
“The contact owns a 2010 Infiniti G37. The contact stated while driving into the garage at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The contact stated that the engine revved to 5,000 RPMS. The contact depressed the brake pedal, and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the failure occurred on three other occasions in a parking lot, and while driving on the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed but no cause for the failures were found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.”Owner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Aug 2022

“The contact owns a 2010 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the airbag warning light illuminated. The contact later noticed that there was a crack in the dashboard. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they could repair the dashboard but not the airbags. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.”Owner report · Air Bags · Aug 2021
“Passenger seat sensor has failed, causing the system to be inoperative. Based on research, this is a common problem which was addressed on some nissan/infiniti models, but not the g37 convertible. The cost to repair is prohibitive at $9000.”Owner report · Air Bags · Apr 2021
“Passenger side airbag sensor has failed - this is a serious threat to human life in case of an accident and I'm pretty sure this is illegal. I purchased the car March 2021 from a dealer in San Jose, and this did not show on the carfax report, nor did the dealer inform me of this defect. BaseD on my research this is a common problem with other G37's of the same year and into 2011. Infiniti of Beaverton, OR has quoted $7,000.00 to repair which is a little less than half the cost of the car's value. INFINITI SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AS IT IS A SERIOUS DEFECT AND IS A LIFE THREATENING SAFETY ISSUE!”Owner report · Air Bags · Mar 2021
“Infinit has issues with their convertible top mechanism. They run a metal to plastic gear that strips and fails. This causes the top to sometimes stop mid cycle and throw an error code. Then the owner is unable to secure the top. I had to drive to the dealer with the top in mid position, not safe. Frankly nor is it to safe to tow in that position. In my case this has happened to me more that once. If one googles "infiniti convertible flap failure" you will see im not the only one. Infiniti hasn't reworked the parts (car was cancelled) or covered the repairs with the same defective part. Better yet these repairs are 2k per occurrence to resolve. And in my case fail every other year.”Owner report · Structure · Feb 2021
“Passenger seat airbag sensor has failed, so the airbag will not deploy. Dash warning light remains illuminated while in operation. Spoke to infiniti and was told to take to a dealer for diagnostics and they confirmed no recall currently. Spoke to the local infiniti dealer who states they must diagnose the problem and charge for the service. Seat sensor has failed and repair includes the replacement of the passenger seat, which costs around $9k. The current trade in value of the car is $5-8k. No one can safely ride in the passenger seat of this vehicle. This safety issue should be recalled by infiniti.”Owner report · Air Bags · Jun 2020
“The dash on my vehicle has been slowly cracking and falling apart for about 2 years. More and more fractures are occurring on the vehicle as it sits. This is a known issue and was recalled on my 2004 lexus rx330 a few years ago for the same exact problem. This is clearly a manufacturing defect and should be addressed by infiniti or the dash manufacturer.”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Nov 2019
“Airbag light shows and blinks after starting the vehicle and while driving. Dealerships want over $6000 for part. Airbag system will not activate unless new control system is installed. Dash light blinks whenever vehicle is on. Have rest multiple times, but the blinking comings back.”Owner report · Air Bags · Nov 2019
