“Was driving to vegas, it was 103-107 degrees After fast DC charging drivetrain had issues that when pressing acceleration the car would have almost a loss in power that caused a stuttering movement. If forcefully driven, the error message drivetrain electrical system would pop up. Issue can be resolved but only after letting the car stay in park for 10-15 minutes after finished charging. Issue was repeatable but only if weather was hot enough. This shouldn't happen or at least warn the driver to not drive for a certain period instead of guessing the issue.”Owner report · Power Train · Aug 2026
“The car engine shutdown mid drive. One minute before the complete stop, the car was stalling every 20 sec or so, then the acceleration stop responding to the drive pedal. The car was gliding to a stopping point. The "Engine " warning was on the display. Afterward, the car was towed to the Earnhardt Hyundai North Scottsdale, where the service center could not recreate the problem. They concluded that is a non issue since they did not observe the same issue during the test and diagnostic.”Owner report · Unknown Or Other,Engine · Aug 2026
“I received a warning on the screen that said "Stop vehicle and check power supply". Later I got a different message about the 12V system. I checked the error codes with an android app and got error codes P1A90 and PPOC17.”Owner report · Electrical System · Jun 2026

“On 5/27/26, when the car was parked in parking lot, received an alert on dashboard, "check electric vehicle system", when the car was turned on. The car would not shift in to drive or reverse so had to get towed to nearby Hyundai dealership. The EV system was recalibrated and test driven 122 miles to verify proper operation. Then on 6/23/26, when driving on road received an alert on dashboard "power limited". The car would not accelerate and had to get it towed again to same dealership. The dealership performed tests on ICCU and 12V battery but came back negative.”Owner report · Electrical System · May 2026
“The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and failed to return to normal operation. The "check the battery" message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,240.”Owner report · Electrical System · May 2026
“I was driving and the vehicle was operating as expected in normal conditions when I heard a loud pop sound, followed by an alert on my car infotainment to pull over and inspect the 12v battery. "12 volt battery low. Stop safely" I turned the car around to drive back home. The car wouldn't go any faster than 40mph. Once parking the car back home, the car would not turn on anymore. This is congruent with what I've been reading online about other Hyundai Ioniq 5 drivers experiencing when the ICCU in the car fails, requiring Hyundai to fix it.”Owner report · Electrical System · May 2026
“There was a failure of the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) on my Ioniq 5 that forced me to pull off the highway after my car was no longer able to accelerate past 40 or so MPH. After I pulled off the highway I was then only able to accelerate to around 15 MPH which made it difficult to find a place to safely pull off the road until the vehicle made a complete stop and I had to wait for a tow.”Owner report · Electrical System · Apr 2026
“As I began a drive cycle, I heard a pop sound and received the “check electric vehicle system” warning associated with ICCU failure. With ICCU failure, if I had continued to drive the 12V battery would have run to zero and the car would have died completely. Vehicle goes to dealer tomorrow for confirmation.”Owner report · Power Train,Electrical System,Fuel/Propulsion System · Apr 2026
“This is the second time the ICCU failed. The car is waiting for a full EV battery replacement. The first time the failure happened on 12/11/25, at 9,165 miles, the alert happened just before the car came to a full stop as we were driving along the road near our house, it was very difficult to steer, we were sort of stopped in the road and had to get it towed. The second time the alert came on 4/16/26 and we were able to get it to the dealer.”Owner report · Steering,Electrical System,Vehicle Speed Control · Apr 2026
“For the second time, the integrated control unit, ICCU, has failed to this is AFTER being replaced under the recall. The recall solution has not fixed the problem, and is a fake bandaid on a problem that means cars will totally stop working in the middle of the road. This is totally unsafe and unacceptable.”Owner report · Electrical System,Engine · Apr 2026
