On 2 occasions now automatic Start/Stop system has failed to restart. First was approximately 5 weeks ago and Second was Monday 3 Aug 2026. Dealer on first occurrence said there was a loose wire. Have not been to Dealer on 2nd occurrence yet. Situation in both cases is the vehicle was seemingly operating normally with no warnings displayed and I stopped in traffic. When traffic cleared and I tried to proceed; the vehicle was non responsive and would not start when I activated the normal start sequence.Owner report · Power Train · Aug 2026
2024 odyssey engine shut off while in drive thru at restaurant. Unshure if auto start stop override was active. Either way the van had to be re started using the start button. Van re started on second or third attempt to re start with start button. This is a repeat occurance since having starter replaced in response to a similar problem about a year ago.Owner report · Electrical System,Unknown Or Other,Engine · Aug 2026
Car purchased July 4, 2024. Idle stop/start was working but after several months, it became defective. After driving for some time, idle stop/start wouldn't work properly and cut the engine off when idling. I would have to turn the car, open my door, and try to restart the car. It also occurs after parking, turning off the car and less than 10-15min attempt to restart. Most of the time, it'll start after 1 or 2 attempts. Except today 07/31/2026, I got home and parked. After 20min, I tried to start my car and after 10-15 attempts, it wouldn't start. After waiting 2 hours, the car finally started.Owner report · Electrical System,Engine · Jul 2026

The idle start stop system on my 2024 Honda Odyssey sometimes works, and then other times will leave me stranded at a stoplight, making it a grave safety concern. After the engine does not restart you have to turn the car completely off put it in park turn it all the way back on and then continue driving. This is not related to any of the climate controls being onto high or energy being consumed. It seems to be a manufacturing defect.Owner report · Engine · Jul 2026
The vehicle failed to re-start after being engine had been at full operating temperature then was turned off for a short period of time. It has also struggled to re-start with auto start/stop leaving the vehicle partially in a busy intersection without any engine power until it successfully turned over several seconds after releasing the brake pedal. The dealer is unable to replicate. They have tested the starter and battery and confirmed both test good at ambient temperatures. No warning lamps. Once the vehicle cools, it is able to re-start again.Owner report · Power Train · Jul 2026
While stopped at traffic lights or in traffic, the Auto Idle Stop system activates, but the engine sometimes fails to restart when I release the brake pedal. The vehicle becomes disabled in traffic, and I have to shift the transmission into Park (P) to restart the engine.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Jul 2026
2024 Honda Odyssey with only 24K miles has a leak in the tailgate from bad welding in the body that is gathering water in the trunk. Safety isn’t at risk but I would say that the corrosion to any electrical items are at risk which will put me and my family and others at risk of something failing. Yes the problem has been reproduced and it’s a common thread on the internet. We will be taking it to the dealership to inspect since it’s still under warranty. No messaging of this from the car except the fowl odor.Owner report · Structure · Jul 2026
Yesterday my 2024 Odyssey auto stop engaged and the car wouldn’t restart in the traffic light. I had to turn the car off and try twice before it would restart.Owner report · Power Train · Jun 2026
My wife and kids were driving down the highway when the moonroof spontaneously exploded. It made a loud popping noise and glass rained down on my wife and two young kids. No warning signs at all. Luckily everyone is safe but this did cause some traumatic. We do feel uncertain about moonroofs now and are considering a different vehicle.Owner report · Structure · May 2026
The car fails to start when coming out of the idle start/stop feature. This has happened at least 3 times to my family. When it occurs it takes ~1min to restart the vehicle and can occur in an intersection.Owner report · Unknown Or Other · May 2026
